I have spent a worrying amount of time checking prices of these cars for the past few months. Specifially GTS.

Prices seem to have gone up quite alot. It's not just the weak pound, they have gone up loads in the USA too.
Add that to the looming brexit, GTS via importers are working out just under £60,000 on the UK road.

I reckon by the end of the decade a GTS under £50,000 will be a high mileage affair only.

Oh I love this high milage bks, My car has done 78k and you could eat you dinner off the underside of my car, these so called low milage cars kept in storage (and more importantly, Not looked after) are not worth crap IMO We have seen it time and time again, perished rubber gaiters, rust on the chassis. Leaking gaskets.

Its a car and they are designed and meant to be driven.

I don't regard 78,000 miles as high mileage.
I'm talking about 130,000 miles plus.

A new initiate?

£50k for a good gen 2 GTS seems reasonable to me having owned 2. what else can you get for that money with as much character, style, performance, rarity and drama

How has your Viper performed from a reliability point of view over this distance? Do you have to spend much to keep it running well?

Most of my issues so far seem to have been age related.

General corrosion has been a bit of an issue for me, particularly the cooling system. But that is sorted now. On the plus side rising values will partially off-set the outlay on new parts at some time in the future.

Sadly a lot of this happens from Under use and cars being kept in storage in the wrong conditions.

Well mine has been kept in a garage but used all year round. There can't be many Vipers around that have had one owner from new, now 16 years and counting. The trouble is I just don't feel the desire and enthusiasm to drive it like I used to.

I think we are missing the point. The point is they are all going up. That's what this topic is about isn't it?

It doesn't matter whether it is high mileage or low mileage, roofless (or windowless) or GTS.

The general consensus is that they have recently hit the lowest they are going to go and fingers crossed the small climb we have seen is the start of a big climb. As somebody above said, at the moment I can't think of a better way to spend 50 grand. Maybe a 997 turbo is a much better car for the same money but where is the sense of ocassion?

I agree that prices are going up. I think they reached their low around 12-18 months ago when I was offered £25k for mine. Since then it has probably gone up by £10-15k. Some of the cars priced around £50k have been for sale for quite a while though so I'm not sure how strong the demand is.
