Benny - hope you are ok, I certainly remember your old car well - and enjoyed watching its transformation from a standard s197 to a supercharged Shelby clone (then sadly crashed by its new owner)

I for one am glad Viper prices have stayed static thus far, it was one dream car that fortunately didn't get away due to me being priced out of the market, although I had to stretch my budget considerably from my original figure. They certainly aren't 'cheap', but waiting to buy AFTER they have started to rise doesn't make sense to me. IMO cars should not be bought as an investment, if they do go up that's a bonus, but I would hate to have regrets later in life about what cars I should have bought.
All good here thanks mate. I loved the Mustang, especially modifying it. I've not really had a car like it since where I've felt like tweaking it until it was just right for me. I agree with you on the current Viper prices, they are excellent if you are are looking to buy and keep for a while. All this discussion is tempting me back in smile

When I bought my Viper back in 2001 the appeal was getting a car that could compete with just about anything else on the road in terms of performance (even those costing double or triple the price). Back then I could also rely on my local Chrysler/Dodge dealer to service the car at a very reasonable price. However, now there are many cars that can match the performance and it's hard to find a garage you can trust to work on the car. That is why I think prices remain relatively low. I think my GTS was one of the last official UK cars registered and reluctantly I am now selling it. So I will be interested to see how strong the demand will be in the coming weeks.

Just about every car I have ever loved before the viper has exploded value wise. The Countach I once loved I sold for 45k is now worth well over 200k. My lovely pantera would fetch over 100k now too. My old Cerbera would have climbed in value as well but my beautiful 2001 GTS with its colossal power recently dynoed at 1000 Bhp is way less than I paid for it. Quite astonishing really as a car as rare as a viper would I imagine hold a rarity value at least

the constant dropping value in the US market, isn't going to help the UK prices.
Maybe that will change in 2017
