I have made the decision to market mine with a decent dealer and i am going to be asking £50k, some would say its strong money and perhaps asking too much. I happen to disagree, i think these cars are worth it and we should not be selling them short of what they are. it may take a long while to sell but i'm confident it will find a buyer. vipers are a rare car for the UK roads, you may have choice over in the states but that's a long way away and a lot of costs and headache attached to importing your own. the reason for static prices may just be sellers are undervaluing their cars and dropping prices when trying to make quicker sales.

regardless i know what my viper is worth and i hope the rest of owners on here selling or thinking of selling don't sell the car too short. the Viper is the modern day Shelby cobra and look how much they sell for these days.

Coor, that will be rusted up solid then hehe Mind you, Knowing how active the UK Viper owners are I think there will be many more rusted up Vipers biggrin

I'm up to 74,000 miles in mine woohoo I measure it in Smiles per Gallon biggrin LOTS bounce

You could eat your dinner off the underside of my car, it may have high mileage but I guarantee you its better kept than some cars out there wink

Remember the day I picked mine up in Oklahoma City 2800 miles on the clock and I drove it 3000 miles through sanfransisco and up to Seattle. Great days indeed

Don't think its just viper prices in doldrums I was putting a car through auction today at Sandown hardly any made reserve. At the end hardly any sold may be later some deals might be struck but all in all it was very poor some lovely motors there have to say.

The variance in Viper prices is extreme. I have been offered prices as low as £20k for my GTS and have seen others offered for double that. Since I have no upgrades I think the realistic price at present is going to be around £30k.

Trade might offer you £20k but that's so they have a buffer and I would expect them to market it at £40K. I was offered £30k trade on my gts but I know this is too low and I refused to part with it for such a weak offer. I understand they have margins and if I were on the other side of the table I would do the same.

Must be a very keen new owner, not that I blame him I bought my viper without seeing it and from a different country. Viper owners are just very reliable and trustworthy guys, who take a lot of pride and care of their car so I suppose not such a big risk.

Congrats with the sale

Good thread, as a buyer the lack of resale is a concern. Maybe it shouldn't be if I really want the car, but as I've got older and change more frequently, it is a factor.

The lack of interior embellishments is not so much of a concern, but it would be a weighted factor and something I'd be more prepared to overlook if it contributed to a weight advantage, alas it appears it does not.

The main appealing factor is it's styling. Nothing comes close, I don't think there is any other car that looks quite like it, it stirs the soul. I will really know I want one when I drive one, it must be quite an event.

I would definitely be looking for a modded example. Better brakes, lowered (standard seems to ride very high), good tyres and extra power. These engines seem very low stressed so power should be relatively easy to come by and in this day and age a family hatchback can make 400hp in a lighter package. Around 600hp would be nice, though I'd like it to stay NA.
