Hi all,

Please could someone give me a guide price for gen 1 and 2 vipers in the uk?

I have seen the cheapest accident repaired early rt10s for £25k and they typically go up to £38k for a nice lowiah miles early rt10. Am I about right? I guess red is the best colour?

I have seen the more sought after 1996-2001 viper GTS go for c. 28k for an accident repaired bad example up to c. £50k for a sought after low miles blue one with white stripes. Is the mid point c.£38k? Presumably the red or blue ones with white stripes are most sought after?

Is there a more scientific guide?

Cheers

38 is to much for a early RT in the current market, my brother in law sold the mint 2000 GTS for £33K before Christmas

my 02 gts final edition is coming on the market very soon, asking price will be £50k which is what its worth in my opinion. a car is worth what the seller is asking and what someone buying is ready to pay, as the uk marketplace is very small for these cars they are hard to find multiples of choice. look at the market in the states and then you get choice in age, millage, condition, mods ect. issue there is you are buying unseen, and you have to add the shipping, vat, duty and registration in to account.

been watching the market closely for some time as I wanted a viper and in recent times the going prices have been £25-£30 for an RT-10 with a few priced slightly higher which were above average condition or modified and had a lot of money thrown at them, GTS rough ones from low £20k average price for a good one seems to be £33-35K and there have been 2 last editions GTS for sale in red at £45k but they've been for sale for getting on 2 years.
They are still amazing value cars and at some point will have to start increasing, I went for a 66 corvette at the moment as investment wise it was the best thing to do but in 2-3 years it will be sold to purchase a GTS viper,

the one at octane advertised for a very long time after it actually sold, i know because it was my old car. the other final edition sold at auction to a dealer who has had it for about 6 months. quite common as it is a lhd american car with a smaller following than shall we say Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.

Some interesting statistics here: https://theviperstore.com/Information_Viper_Produc...

285 cars made in '92, only 35 of which were made for export. I've also read that in these early years changes were made each year, e.g. apparently a roof for a '92 will not fit on a '93. I have no idea if this will relate to future value though.

Selling/Buying them is a very limited market. Sometimes one comes up that someone has been waiting for and they sell straight away, other times its the other way round and they sit for a while. Its been discussed to death recently why this is and why the values languish compared to more popularist cars but I think we are all of the belief this will correct itself, especially with the seeming demise of real engines with character that give you a huge grin every time in favour of ones which are just generators for the batteries (sadly).

Anyways, all those reading this, rest assured that if you are looking for a monster of a car with a character that will get you hooked instantly then your search is over...

Dr Bob, you sound well informed.

I've seen a rhd one for sale but cat d for £28k which is off putting.

I've seen a mint looking original GTS for £37k but that advert has disappeared - I suppose the owner sold or had a change of heart.

What others are for sale at present?

Is the RHD in question is a red 2002 GTS?
If so it's Simon Eliott EX CEO Chrysler Europe.
The car was shipped to Australia for a 70k conversion
It was damaged after a manager for chrysler crashed it but it was fully Re-framed my a Mercedes dealership...

Or is it a blue or orange one?

I'm guessing its the blue one here http://cars.trovit.co.uk/index.php/cod.frame/url.h...

As far as I know the orange one is owned by a forum member who is currently bringing it back to life, and there was a story about it in American Car World(?) magazine, a few months ago. I couldn't find a copy on the shelves at the time as I would have liked to read up on its revival.
