So happy to post in here now, even though its not a 68 Fastback this may be my entry into the cheaper end of yank ownership!

Stumbled across a 97 Black 3.8 that's been off the road for 6 years. Looks straight and it ran. has a smashed passenger window but has been inside the whole time so just a bit of dust no water inside.

I understand these things are pretty simple and reliable? What should I look for when I go to see it?
Too optimistic for it to jumpstart!?

I am offering above scrap if its not a rot box as that's where it was off to. Meant to have run fine until parked. Meant to...

They 're pretty reliable. I see a lot of these on the road still. Fuel economy and power are not great.

They tend to blow head gaskets so check carefully.
Also, 190 hp in a car that is not very light means it won't set the world on fire and V6 models have things like open diffs, smaller brakes and no rear sway bar as they are meant to be basic and cheap so are not exactly accomplished in the handling department. Most are also restricted to, i think 115mph as it enabled Ford to fit lower-rated tyres.
It's basically a big Cologne V6.
