Clonking noise!!

After going for a drive quite hard driving ,when i backed up onto drive and braked it went clonk ,is this just the calipers......

I get this also - pull up on the drive, start reversing back and I often get a clonk. Sometimes think I've hit soemthing!

Must be a 'characteristic'?

Nope!?Well i don,t think it is although they do have a transmission rattle and slack in the diff to allow for the masses of torque could it be that you heard?
