Has anyone here seen the 1700HP SVSi Viper?

www.supervipersystems.com/Upgrade_Systems/upgrade_systems.html

And this has nothing to do with my TOTB3 post BTW.

SVS have been doing twin turbo setups for a number of years, this looks like there latest offering for the wealthy. There current 1100bhp system comes in at $58K,
so I think this will just be out of reach for a few of the TOTB runners

They did some salt bed testing a while back last year, and were hoping to break the class record of 266mph not sure of the outcome though

Like I said this link/tuning stage has nothing to do with TOTB3 and I am not discretely implying that someone should go and get this kit for their Viper, after all, I have no right to say that considering I don't even drive. I don't know if you said that comment about TOTB3 and the kit because you think I was implying that someone should purchase it or for fun, however. If this was my intention then I'd post loads of tuning packages that make 1000bhp from DLM, Elite, TNT, Hennessey, SVSi, Heffners, Apex etc.

I was just wondering what people's opinions on this car. IMO it can do what it is designed to do in a competent fashion so it is a great car.

Thanks for your input on this site and nice to see your interest in fast Vipers but I think sometimes its very easy to loose the plot a bit when it comes to 8/9/10 second cars, when I watched the first F&Furious and the talk of a few Jap car being "10 second cars",I thought,"hey whats the big deal,if a Civic can do anything can",but as I looking into things a bit more and after running again at TOTB2 and seeing that out of over 100 modded cars some with nearly 900bhp only 4.....yes that is correct "4" were running in the tens...or to put it another way 10 second cars.So a 8 or 9 second car is not only very very expensive to produce(fragile/no return on £££££ spent on mods as it tends to lower the value of the car if anything) but rare as hens teeth. And just one final point that really puts things into prospective....can you think of the worlds fastest production car?Me thinks a MAC F1..when Autocar ran a full test on one back in 1996 what time would you think its best time forthe 1/4mile?.....IN THE 10,S?...er NO......IN THE 9,S...er NO....IN THE 8,S.....er NO...In fact the best run Autocar could manage was ......wait for it...........11.1 SEC at 131 MPH!!Yes I was very surprised when I read this raod test...so please ..when you talk of a 10 SEcond car.Think

Thanks for the comments, Venom.

As for the Mc F1 comment, I know it runs 11s (11.6 I also heard), and in perspective to a lot of other cars and the fact that Vipers can ALMOST out of the box, and most modded Vipers here can, proves a lot for its performance. Hell, even Evos run 12s with a few ks worth of mods.

Like I said, making this post had nothing to do with my TOTB3 posts and as a recommendation that someone should get this kit (a - that is too extreme, b - it is a bit rich coming from me). I only posted this because it is representative of the boundaries of Viper tuning.

Yeah that was the Norris Designs Evo 7. Evo tuning on the limit - more ways to add bhp and performance - nitrous, none is used, stronger diffs from the rs, weight reduction etc. Apparently had a clutch problem and bogged a few of its launches (when against keith's r32 gtr).

As for the Viper link, the boundaries where for the limits of bhp and tuning (although there are yank engines pushing out 6000bhp for drag), not for street legality or street driveability (former being on the edge due to stringent US laws, latter being failed for obvious reasons).
