Ariel Atom: deciding when to drive home
Discussion
Great story...
I read it and then realised that I saw your car parked up by the Swan & Sugar Loaf a couple of weeks ago! I live in Coulsdon and own a Westfield, I drove in home from Chorley, just North of Manchester last November. Ok, it wasn't in the snow but I have an idea of what you went through!

Coulsdon + Westfield / Croydon + Atom = Hoon!
I get out quite a lot with some local Westy boys. They plan some great runs into Surrey that include brekkie and some great roads. Were going to the kit car show at dettling in a couple of weeks and Im at the Sunday service at Mercedes Benz World this Sunday.

Would love to come along with some like minded local drivers. SS is off for me as I'm out of the country, but anything else, feel free to ping me an email and I'll try and misbehave
Cool, Im sure your car will pull a crowd at the Surrey owners club meet at the Parrot, Okley. Next one is on a Tuesday evening, I'll let you know the date soon and we can go down together with another Steve another Westy (Megabusa) owner from Wallington.Just seen this brilliant write up.
As Lord Benny said we will have to meet up and have a blat somewhere. Is it supercharged by any chance?
Btw whose is the Westie in the first pic with the cage?
I saw a red/black Atom on Friday night around 7.30 in Carshalton as well do you know him is he on here?
Cheers
Steve

Yes we are meeting up on Sunday to have a blast down there, you're more than welcome to tag along.
The car looks very nice in the video.
If you cant make Sunday we have a meet at the Parrot Inn. Its touch and go if I will make it as the new workshop seems to be engulfing my life at the moment
Going to fit some new bits to my car tomorrow hopefully if not its just going to get a wash ready for Sunday

Boredom at work has driven me to new parts of the forum and to here - I've long decided an Atom is a necessity in life at one point so I thought I'd have a read around here.
This story is fantastic. I was bricking myself when I went to get my first VX in the rain 30 miles away!
Hats off to you. Can't imagine what it would be like seeing an Atom in the snow let alone driving one, and driving one for that many miles.
Truly awesome. Happy motoring

Thanks for the offer Donny. I'm the other side of London in North Herts.
However good the PAX ride would be, sadly my Atom purchase won't be for at least 5 years - unless my career progresses quicker than I could hope for.
Until then I'll be sticking with cheaper lightweights with at least and option of a roof so I can get to work during weeks like this.

Just read this and wanted to say that it was a great read and has brought back many memories of THOSE journeys that happen, because of situation and stubbornness that end up being great moments in life and enjoyable tales to tell...after enduring hell
Sounds like an awesome car mate, congrats!
