After all this posting,i've decided i like the standard system, pre cats out and standard Y piece.

Sounds boring, but i have now tried near enough all ways of changing exhaust sound/system.

Clive
The Y piece is the best, but i have done approx 300 miles and want to revert back so shes up for sale on PH

LOL - I think that applies to most of us TVR owners.

What is your final configuration going to be for exhaust - precats out, Clive F Y and standard exhaust?

That's what I had before I took Clive out,so back to that set,but thinking of installing a custom exhaust to replace standard back end....just can't decide what noise(tune LOL) I want to achieve

I was half tempted with a custom middle box myself. I have absolutely no doubt that Clive F Y piece and no precats are the way to for the manifolds but the exhaust is tough one. My cherry bombs are fantastic at cutting out high frequency sound, having a nice deep tone and being comparatively quiet on idle and cruising. However there is still a little bit of resonance around 2.5-3k I have only really noticed this since changing the injectors which believe it or not made a big change to the exhaust note. I think perhaps the only way to get the perfect sound would be to go for a custom silencer box and have it tuned to your taste.

I keep meaning to have a conversation with Hayward and Scott in Basildon who are round the corner from me to see what they can offer. I was also considering the possibility of having the middle box flanged so I can easily swap in and out a different configuration without having to take the whole exhaust off. It would be nice to have a set of straight throughs to easily fit for TITT events etc.

That is a bit too agricultural for my taste, but then exhaust note is very much down to the individual preference. According to the description the car has:

Stainless manifolds to a sleeved system, de-pre-cat, tornado chip, an "interesting" cam, power amp ignition, and an up-rated fuel pressure regulator.

I am assuming that means precats out, decat Y and an original exhaust with a sleeved silencer.

Not sure about that, thats why i got rid of the sleeved exhaust..

After a more pure sound but loud and not agricultural, which is what i was saying ealier Matt, its trying to get the right note.

Local guy says he can swop and change types of silencer etc until i am happy with the sound, then fully weld up once confirm what i like

Need to book a few hours out me thinks
