Well,as you are aware, i had a sleeved exhaust and was getting pretty fed up with it,so a post on here got Phil from Salisbury(thanks again Phil) to call round and do a swop, so i got the standard system back on.

Added to that, and advise taken from various PH's(cheers Daz for pics and vids), as to which was the best way to achieve the correct exhaust sound,(Precats out, decat Y piece and standard system was the overall agreement)i contacted Clive and he sent me one of his beautiful Y piecescloud9

All was fitted this morning, and to say i am over the moon is an understatementwoohoo

The sound is amazing, and i must say the car is vastly improved on the revs, the accelerator feels so light and responsiveclap

Good work - despite sounding good, they are DB meter friendly like that. I heard Pete's (haircutmike) car - Decat y and pre-cats out and would have said that his was as loud as mine (decat y and act cherry bombs system) but 14 or 15 DB less on the meter at Snetterton!

Mine is 110db at 3000rpm with trackday silencers 95db ,so apart from mine having the ACT Y piece it should be prity similar.

The noise comes in when you boot it , steady driving it`s prity quiet..

Fitting Megasquirt to mine and was thinking of removing the cats. Is there any problem with emmissions or do I have to Find a "friendly" MOT station?

Where can I obtain a plain Y piece without the cat so I can retain the original cat for MOTs if I need to?

For some reason, I got an extra 30ish horses when the cats were removod.

I have retained an original Y piece just in case although a crisp £20 saw it sail through last time!

Like i said the revs were so much more responsive,i can easily see why the BHP may go up.

Still to RR after the work at V8D this summer, and the decat must improve even more!

It will get better once its bedded in .The ACT is ok,alot cheaper but i get some under bonnet noise (gases traveling through the Y piece)..Sounds a bit like a yank motor.

Do you get this with Clives Y piece.?

Had conversation with my folks yesterday about going up there for Xmas - they suggested that I might like to get a hire car for the journey so that I'm "more comfortable if the weather is bad and it's cold" ...

... they even offered to pay for it!

(I suspect that they don't want the neighbours twitching curtains when I turn up there again... biggrin )
