Megasquirt

Ford small block etc etc etc .laugh nearly forgot the plenum mod .
The megasquirt is my last attempt to squeeze the last few bhp from my rover v8

If im happy with it it on the rover v8 I will finish off the plenum and enjoy it for a year or so and just do the ford v8 as and when

If im not happy with the MS and rover v8 I will use it in the ford engine

Don`t know how fast you want your car to be but when i take anyone for a quick blast they are somewhat astonished !

they complain of num legs, light head, and palpitations .laugh

It gets to a point where once you have got it running right, is it realy worth going through more hassle to grab more power ..!

Is it a bridge to far with your moded engine and the 14CUX .. ?

A cure to your problem would be fit a carb to your engine ,it would be setup and raedy to go in a few hours and run sweet ,then you can set your heart on the Ford engine .

I'm sure it could be sorted to work well

But it would need mappable ignition so I might aswell do the fueling aswell

And the MS can be used on the ford and rover so it's my next best step

In all seriousness, I would love that as a removable one piece hardtop.

What would people pay, £1,250.00 at a guess, I would.

I enquired before about the two peice and I think it was about £1500.
i dont think it's that bad when i'm looking at having to have about £300 for the rear/window and then about £500 for a surrey top.
The hard top for that sort of price would be very tempting

“If we go back to history, the second Merdeka Millennium Endurance race in 2001 was won by a TVR Chimaera. In fact, in the first year itself, TVR was unfortunate to finish second overall.

“So, in the TVR Chimaera machine that our drivers would be using in this year’s race, it had the track record that it has the capability to last the grueling 12 hours of non-stop racing and the power to be among the front-runners,” he said in his speech.

With a top speed of up to 260 kilometers per hour, the lightweight 980-kg racing machine has an engine capacity 400bhp. Their challenge in the fifth edition of the Merdeka Millennium Endurance race would be carried by an experienced drivers’ line-up of Datuk Vincent Leong, Asrul Azam Ali and Rocky Siow behind the wheel.

It'd be an interesting process selling it to myself but I think I could be tempted too ...

... would just want to find a way to create a tonneau cover too. biggrin

I would have thought a one piece roof would be a real PITA to fit and store whereas Steve's solution is the best of both worlds.

Having seen the work Steve put into the development of these I'd suggest anyone thinging of making their own would be advised to forget it and just buy one of his and if you really want a one piece work out some way of glassing the two seperate parts together in situ.

I agree Sreves looks very good but the red hardtop gives the car a different look, very stylish, sporty and a touch more modern as if the design had moved on, (even though it's old iyswim).

This is what you're looking for (the yellow item...) - pic taken just over 3 years ago at Bufori in KL. The guy who owns Bufori bought all the TVR stuff when the factory closed

No idea what happened to it all but a few people did follow up on earlier posts

Cheers
