well as promised the colour is on, we remasked the car cleaned the shop from top to bottom, tack ragged till is was squeaky clean then mixed the paint tried a little test piece little more thinners and away i went, nice fast light coat to start let it get tacky just so it doesent stick to your finger but not dry, then on with a good second coat now you can see the colour and then a slightly wet last coat and it dosent look to bad, had one reaction where silicone had been used to bodge a rear light in place amazing how it bleeds through etch primer high build wet and dry sanding etc.etc. but sorted now plus rebuilt the calipers fitted the pads all going on tomorrow.

Hello and regards from Hungary !

Congratualtion you make a great job. I want also build a supercharger in my MK I. You can tell me which typ/model of Rotrex charger you are using. Alsi I am very interested
for all details in this case. Is it possible to contact you for details ? Possible
for the cooling I have a right part. Down you see one performance radiator made from me in aluminium with a core deth of 57mm which also we produce combined with oil -
cooler. If I would know the parameter of your intercooler than I can check that this
item would be as alternativ - into too.

What type of paint are you spraying the car with ? Im surprised you did not make some type of tent made from plastic,a bit of soot off the the exhaust above you would be very upset .

with respect any type of flexible tent as you call it is about as much good as a chocolate poker, overspray sticks tent moves disaster, plus if you bothered to read the text the shop was cleaned totally from top to bottom even washed the roof trusses so no dust the paint as i have already pointed out is movac supplied two pack.

Brilliant project, I'm following with great interest & much respect.

But 2K & a paper mask yikes

I'm sure you understand the risks John, personally I'd definitely want an air fed hood as a minimum.

Isocyanates have no regard for your obvious talent, please be careful mate.

Hi John first time I've seen this thread stunning work.
On page 6 you show the plenum air intake water jacket being removed - thats fine but 3 of the 4 mounting bolt holes go through the plenum body into the air intake just wanted to check you had blocked them off.

Yes and anybody else taking this water jacket off will probably cut down the bolts before replacing them to seal the holes up as i did.

Just make sure you dont cut the bolts down too much, making sure they still sit flush with the inside of the plenum. I cut mine too short so every time the throttle plate angled the intake air over the holes, ( about 1/4 throttle), it made a very annoying whistling sound.

love the colour combination of black and orange, all in the right amounts. Spike over on the TVRCC forum is bringing a griff back from a bad smash, with bodywork damage. his nephew is doing the spray work, his chassis is orange and so is the paint job, I would love to see both these cars parked together when they are finished, and again great work John, smile

Mark
