John, sorry if you've answered this already but 30 pages is a lot of reading, are your induction pipes enamel coated or just painted, I have some heat reflective wrap on mine but am thinking of doing more to keep the charge as cool as poss. Maybe both sides would help but definitely from the intercooler to the plenum.

the charge pipes are 316 stainless as it dosent transfer heat well and i think the under bonnet temp is higher than the air temp when running hard and they are high temp powder coated.

For those that have enjoyed the thread I wanted to let you all know about our entry into the Trevor Wilkinson Cup. For those who do not know about the CUP it is awarded each year by the TVR Car Club for the best restoration.

We entered the car last year but we did not meet the deadline to have the car complete, so they kindly let us re-enter the car again. Last week I was phoned to let us know we were amongst the 3 finalists and invited up to the AGM on Saturday for the award giving.

You can read the full report here. - but to keep this short(ish) we were beaten by the 'White Elephant' (see http://www.tvrwhiteelephant.co.uk/) - so although we are both disappointed to have lost, but given the White Elephant unique nature the fact it came down to two votes I think shows how much they recognised the level of detail + engineering my Dad had put into the car.

On the plus side the car will be shown at the NEC Classic Car on the TVR Stand this year (White Elephant was on display last year)

We will also be at Burghley so hopefully get to catchup with everyone.

I think ether Linley`s car or the best restoration to date or the ultimate with the supercharged Ford engine was an engineering challenge .

Have a read through this

If he did it would win ! hands down .Everything has been upgraded even the exhaust route is different ,chassis uprated and the engine was a tight squeeze .

I want that car !

I don't think so Daz, it's a lovely car for sure, but it has not had 'everything' upgraded, we have custom made brakes and custom electric variable steering (the reason you see my drive one handed is because I can adjust it to 0 assist, or light as a feather)

I`m not pulling your car down or comparing it,think your car is great lick ,It`s a completely different build . I like the engine and all the fabrication work to make everything fit .

Think he is the first to fit that engine ,you have to admit is sounds awesome .

But it's not a rover v8, so therefore no comparison as that's not the original engine

You have to be in it to win it.

This rebuilt TVR is well worthy of the podium finish, as it were. If Linley is in the TVRCC then he could have entered it to be in consideration. Otherwise, it's O/T for this thread, I'd say.

Well done John / Nick - you'd have had to be going some to beat the White Elephant with it's unique provenance.

I’m being shown
Update your photobucket account although I can view some of the pics.

Frustrating.
I suppose I’ll have to find out how to update my account!

It's not referring to you, the viewer. It's a money grab aimed at the person who has used Photobucket to host their photos. This used to be free but is now IRO £300 pa.
