I had the problem with slow electric window on my Chimaera drivers side, now fixed.

Very simple, all I did was grease the diagonal spiral gearing, its casing has a small gap all the way up the stem making it easy to insert grease then wind window up and down a few times and Bingo...I did take the door panel off.

Hi Lester,

I must say putting the nuts back on door trim was not so easy as taking them off so went out and bought a telescopic magnet otherwise a door full of nuts. Also tried wing nuts but not convinced so back to nuts.

I am going to take the door trim off to retrim the door card centres. I heard that its much better if you scrawny arms to do it. So I'm waitiing for my son to visit. Why are you not convinced with the wing nuts

Best way to do it is loose the nuts and get some wing nuts with the largest wings you can find and replace use larger penny washers.

Force your are down and when your elbow slips in the speaker whole you can reach the last one .

Try the window mechanism before you refit the door card because the plastic membrane can get trapped

I can remove both sided and re fit in 30 minutes.

Mine are comming off soon to try the furniture doctor repaint ,my interior is a bit tired

also you can put silicon grease on the runner channels, both together make for very smooth/fast windows smile
don't use lithium grease though in the runners

I fitted new window runner felts on my v8s and a relay mod to the switches and it improved things greatly. The switch contacts are tiny and have to handle a lot of current, especially when things start to get a bit stiff. My main driver for the relay mod was to protect the switches as they are now like hens teeth.

Can you explain what you did installing this mod
Cheers

Relay sounds like a good idea.

Did you just use a standard 4 pin?

85 - Ground
30 - Battery Feed
86 - Window switch
87 - Window motor

Used two 5 pin relays, one for up one for down. I will dig out the wiring diagram when I get home tonight, it will make it easier to explain.

I found the wing nuts more of a pain as I kept dropping them inside the door when trying to turn them in position, the original nuts for me are easier when using my new Torq mini socket set which is fantastic and makes the job so much easier. I am probably the odd one out on this.

Right just got around to drawing this in illustrator. Hopefully it is clear enough; the usual caveats apply, this is at your own risk, if you are unclear about anything please seek professional assistance.
