I'm struggling with this.... the SC and turbo boys have road going cars with power output North of 400 bhp. The 500 SC cars, alledgedly are up to 450 bhp. Looking at RR figures at the various gatherings the average 500 unmodified puts out about 280bhp and 320 torques... I struggle to imagine what driving a 450 bhp Chim might be like. Mine's a handfull and has to driven with extreme caution on anything but the dryest of roads... and it has very progressive torque and power delivery.. Dare I say it, I'd give a Cerb a good whooping up to a 100 (on a private road) A 450 bhp Chimaera must be something special and demand exceptional driving skills..... Stupid and childish as it might sound, I believe a TVR should be quicker (at least up to a 100) than anything else you're ever likely to encounter on the road. It's a Blackpool rocket after all Maybe this 450 bhp thing isn't too far off the mark

I don't know about you, but I think it's all about the feeling in the Chim. I had a modified S15 Silvia before which was about as fast. But NOWHERE near as entertaining. The roof down, instant torque and immense noise make it so much better no matter how fast it's actually going. I agree about the caution though, I was having some 'fun' one Sunday morning with a mate in his SLK. I know mine hammers him in a straight line and probably could in corners but it was a bit moist. I think it was my nerves more than the cars ability but it felt a bit skittish in the corners and was about the first time I've been scared in a car so slowed right down. I'm going to leave the engine as it is then start working on the suspension, brakes and change the tyres. Straight line speed is good but I want something I'm confident in any situation. I can't imagine a lot more power without getting everything else top notch first? But I bet they feel and sound awesome so i've got respect for anyone with big power

I would not touch a supercharger unless i had
1 the chassis stiffened ,they bend like a banana !
2 some type of limited slip diff
Mine can catch me out at any time with 340hp so god knows what it would be like at 450bhp plus.

The ECU has traction control facility so just need the sensors, hardware ect, and I have the cts up rated gearbox so I will see if I can break it

Since when did they bend like a banana ?? A lot is all down to power delivery, turbos nah unless small ones ain't progressive and don't suit a light rear wheel drive car, I have quaife diff, just tried the traction control this afternoon gave full beans and it flipping works ! ,hang there will be some one along claiming their foot works better in a mo
Slide ways did you have the quaife t5 conversion?? I did on mine and It don't half whine with the big gears !!

Having just got back from a bit of "testing" on the local near empty roads and doing a bit of flat out 2nd, 3rd and forth, feeling the instant urge and the fairly awesome performance on a lowly NA 4.6, I can't imagine what 450+ horses would feel like. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more and one day that may be achieved but it must feel ruddy fantastic..............................one day . Nigel, gissa go ?

Yes I did, i knew it would be a bit Whiney but with the turbos sucking and blowing its going to be a very noisy car I hope and then there's the straight through exhaust, was the diff a btr to start with?
