thanks for the advise. I have just got a second hand 4.5 engine(after talking to other TVR specialist in my area and who how used the company that I got the engine from) that has done 29,000 mile as the engine builder that i has found wouldn’t let the local TVR specialist that i use to fit the engine, thus would not provide any warranty on it.

You should of bought mine, I could of fitted it and I bet it would of been faster and quite alot cheaper

the story continues
replacement engine fitted, now have an issue with it dumping coolant out off the expansion tank. Only seems to happen at high speed, it looks like the radiator will need to be replaced, had the AA out yesterday and the did a pressure test and couldn't, find any leaks.
it seems that at some point someone has tried to fix a leak in the radiator with something like radweld or kseal without saying anything and it is unable to cope with the pressure from the replacement engine.
Now looking at getting the new aluminum rad fitted to see if that helps the issue.
she now back at str8six for them to check her over

If you dont mind me asking where has this new engine come from? if its a second hand 4.6 engine that has been used could well be the typical porous block,
