Oh yes they all do that sir. The well known hot start problem.

The voltage delivered from the imobiliser delivered to the starter solonoid drops when the car is hot. When I measured mine there was less than 6 volts reaching the starter.

Carl Baker wired up an extra relay on the starter circuit to provide a full 12v when I turn the key. Works a treat now.

Regards

Chris

Or you can buy the Modwise Hot Start Mod for £40. Comes with wiring instructions. It basically puts back the Range Rover bits that TVR took off.

I have hot start mod fitted by previous owner, and I had problem with the sane thing. As link above to the other thread says the hot wire mod only masks problem. Got my mate to bypass imobiliser, ran wire straight from ignition to starter. After advice from chimpofdarkness added a relay to protect ignition. Fires up first time no probs.

Mine has very gradually developed this problem. Fitted the Modwise hot-start kit which helped, but the car occasionally still develops the symptoms you describe. When hot, arm fuel pump, turn key, wait, wait, grin like a tt, nothing, nothing, 5 secs later the car will start.

Think I will do the hot start mod first looks a much easier job, just hope that cures it.

When I had this I think it was immobiliser related. Give Carl Baker a call as he fixed mine and had come accross it many times before.

Chaps, do you happen to know whether this would affect the V6 S?

Had an immobiliser fitted by Carl last week, drove home, went to move the car half an hour later and starter wouldn't run (immobiliser off, fuel pump primed).

Not called Carl about it as it only happened once - it was fine an hour or so later. Not had a chance to drive the car since but will experiment this week.
