So, I changed the plugs and coil last weekend, wire-brushed the extenders and all was well. Today I encountered power loss, misfires, an unstable tickover and the engine eventually cut out as I wanted to put it back in the garage. Bonnet up and a noticed that a plug extender was ridiculously loose. Now, One was slightly bent when I checked these before and the ends looked like they were probably the original parts still since the factory. Good - I'll get new ones and have peace of mind.
now...after looking at the pictures on the 'TVR Green' website, mine are definitely the suppressive ones. These are no longer available but non-surpressed ones are. What the hell is the difference? Can I fit the non- ones? what effect will that have on performance?
??? Anyone know a good address for the right ones at a fair price?

hi stu, i bought my last set from tim at act, he did tell me what the difference was but i cant remember now.

Don`t think the 14cux is to sensitive ,I had no problems with the non resistive plug extenders...

If you have resistive leads you wont need resistive extenders as well 
|

I could be wrong but surpressed is just for radio interference and they are still resistive but have a look at ACT

Thanks for the help, I've just ordered the ones that ACT have in stock...seems like they'll do - if not, I'll be back here in a few days with more 'beginner' questions!

I'm curious about the need for suppression too. I'd accepted that radio reception in the car was pants (and unnecessary with that V8 soundtrack). However, my son tells me that as soon as I start up the car in the garage the TV reception goes fuzzy - I told him that it was the rumble of the exhaust shaking the aerial up on the chimney but really, if it's b****ring up the TV signal then could it also be frazzing any of the engine electronics?
