 - A very modest 9psi of boost
- Hub dyno (giving true wheel HP & torque figures)
Should be a nice partner for my baby 4.0 litre with it's new Canems DF engine managements system. I'm saving up the £2.5k for Eann Whalley's turbo kit. Gunning for 300hp at the wheels and the cost equivalent of 50mpg on LPG.

Dom No Dom, I dont think it's a drive in drive out warrantied package like yours. As I understand it you buy the kit only from Eann for £2.5k, it's a DIY install or recruit your own fitter/mapper type deal. Likely two days labour fitted & mapped, so perhaps £3.5k tops if you already have a suitable engine management system?

Where on earth did you get 85 from BTW? The true octane rating of LPG is actually 113 RON, fact!That's why you need substantially different advance characteristics to make benefit of it. Add to this the cooling effect of introducing an evaporating liquefied gas and you have something equal or better to water/meth injection, exactly what you want to reduce knock. All this is precisely why LPG and forced induction make perfect partners. Although LPG has a lower calorific value (carries less chemical energy by mass than petrol) if the delivery & ignition of this fuel is managed correctly the significantly higher resistance to detonation results in absolutely no loss of power whatsoever. In truth you are more likely to suffer catastrophic knock on petrol than on LPG. Loads of Ozy boys have been running LPG & turbos together for years, blown 6 cylinder Falcons regularly running 10's on gas is commonplace and a twin turbo SBC doing 9's, all down under. It always surprises me there's still a lot of fear & misunderstanding surrounding LPG, it's just another fuel after all. We have been through all this Lpg thing before ..Just show us the LPG storage solution ..maybe two small tanks ,one each side .
Modern vehicals when converting to gas no not even need mapping ,the LPG ECU works like a piggy back and quickly makes calculations from the original petrol map.. so no mapping required.

Daz you're talking b  ks again mate, a piggy back is exactly what I didn't want. Because a piggy back is a flawed & compromised system that has no place on my car. What you need is one ECU with two switchable fuel/spark maps, one map for petrol & the other for LPG. Each completely separate, yet both driven by the same ECU using the same sensors and all mappable using the same software. The difficult bit is creating such an ECU that also has the ability to fire petrol injectors on map 1 & the very different low impedance LPG injectors on map 2. The tank solution has been resolved, as has the luggage & roof storage challenges. And before you ask, no roof rack or trailer is required, the car remains looking totally standard externally. The ECU & bespoke loom part of the project is already in place. Only the accumulation of the required funds slows the project, watch this space

Dom Dom, forgetting anything to do with LPG, a few questions on your upgrade if I may: If a car drives in running well on a 14CUX it will drive out for £7200 (assuming nothing else wrong)? Does that include an intercooler in that price or is it an extra? What other properly installed ECUs are you happy to work with to be able to drive out having spent £4200 for a Turbo/Intercooler install? Will you be doing any self install kits at any point?
