On Thursday I went with Eann Whalley to Auto Sport North in Wallasey to fine tune the map on the Megasquirt he's added to look after the fuel on his turbo install.
Very impressive Dynapack Hub Dyno generates accurate figures at wheels and allows for fine adjustments to be made without slippage etc.
Here is the graph first run 466ftlbs @ 3300 349bhp @ 4400 at just +9 lbs boost. They turned back torque and horse power to 445ftlbs and 345bhp for longevity.
Eann's done a neat setup with the Megasquirt for fueling with an adaptor to plug into original loom which makes the whole installation fully reversable.
Full article to follow in Sprint once Eann returns from holiday.

You need to get out more....
I'm sorry to say this, but I think it's time you went the LS route No more lonely nights staring mournfully at an engineless motor car
Ah, with what I spent in the last 18 months..............I'm sorry to say this, but I think it's time you went the LS route No more lonely nights staring mournfully at an engineless motor car
TBH, I don't want max power, I prefer T/Ds.
What I need is a bit more power, keep the front end light, (they wash out on turn in anyhoo) and improve handing generally.

Just as a matter of interest where does the pipe that's attached to the flame trap end up?
Carbon canisterAnd why on earth would you want the canister filling up with water and oil vapour

I had this problem. I believe you may have to go back to the old system of a connection to the plenum to suck the pressure out of the crankcase.

That's the ball park for Eann's kit but he needs to finalise a few items before he commits.

I believe you have larger bore liners then standard with a larger journal crank ground down at the big end journals to increase stroke.
What does that mean in English ,I understand the top hat liners and thats it !Edited by phazed on Saturday 6th October 17:04
So does my engine have 4.6 pistons .

John, the car is even nicer now that all the various points on the mapping taht needed attentyion have been smoothed out. There was a marked difference between teh drive there and the drive back.Very impressive.

OK, Power's website doesn't have a kit for the 500.... Would that have anything to do with the supposedly weak standard 500 crank? Dom?
All kits are developed for 4 ltr 4.5ltr and 5ltrs, as for weak 5ltr cranks I've not had a failed crank for many many years so I'm not worried about running 500 bhp which is easily achievable... Dom

Would you recommend adding your forced induction proposal to an 113,000 mile non cross bolted 3.9 - such as mine?Dom
And the cam is original (I believe) - If I change the cam over Crimbo what one shall I go for - with a view to fitting said hair drier?
