Modified Chimaera Club (MCC)

Ive been trying to read between the lines to understand Derek's high handed approach to membership and the almost impossible task of joining this elite circle namely 350 Effin horses under the bonnet.
It's clear to me Peters van, although very well proportioned with all the hospitality one could hope for is a very nice van, it's not going to fit to many in comfort if any old riff raff can join.
And even Derek's Chilli can't stretch around the whole paddock.
My worry is by leaving enough room at the table for himself and a few FI nutters only or N/a persisters as this criteria obviously spells out then I'm gonna miss out on the Chilli bigtime

Al, clearly I don't make the rules here.... I volunteered for the job, and I've spent many hours of my own time in running the club admin... (that last was complete bks but I thought I'd throw it in) It used to be that membership wasn't a hard and fast thing, it was as much about the spirit and intent as it was about the hard numbers...It's clear to me Peters van, although very well proportioned with all the hospitality one could hope for is a very nice van, it's not going to fit to many in comfort if any old riff raff can join.

So, I hereby resign as (self appointed) club secretary. If you're not in Al, then I don't want to be in. Sorry Derek (Your lordship Highness Immenseness), but with much regret, I'm out...
And to all the MCC members, its been a blast guys, I'll miss you all... but sometimes a guy just has to move on....
I wish you all the very best...
Chilli..

It's the swing to far to the right I blame I think they call it torque steer
Saying that Richard or is that now James
You wouldn't want to be part of any club that excludes a member who managed to get into the very low 12's on road tyre's, no fun at all.
Sometimes it's the chemistry that makes a group great,,, or you could just have the fastest bloke on the planet ruling things, winners are not easy to please
We face a hard and difficult future, sounds like Del's found his island and fked off to it

Anthony, rumour has it you've gone FI.... ????
C'mon... full story.....
Oh, and Peter, are you staying NA.. ???
Fairly public knowledge now, as the car was at Burpleigh with the bonnet up. I will post up pictures and graphs in about 4 weeks time, after it visits Jools for a new ECU and mapping session in early May. Until then ....... running in a new engine, so Miss Daisy is slipstreaming me.C'mon... full story.....

good on you I have to apologise to all that the figures I gave were the wrong ones. They were for those that could be considered for the board of directors.
The criteria for standard MCC membership is to achieve 1 of the following.
Dyno printout showing over 320 bhp
Timing ticket with terminal speed over 109
Timing ticket with ET of 12.499 or quicker.

I've lost my tickets I swear I made 109 mph on one The criteria for standard MCC membership is to achieve 1 of the following.

Derek has a photographic memory for numbers
12.499 , thats harder than it looks. I've seen a fantastic looking and sounding Chim snap drive shafts at 12.7's so that still proper big boy territory.
I've been forced into a few mods to try and fight off recent opposition who have blown me into the weeds so my diff/ gas flowing exhaust + the remarkable Rainsport 3 tyre's at 10 psi should heave me up the timing board by im hoping 1/2 to 3/4 second.....
But then I'm a dreamer
Having just looked at the Tvr fastest times leader board for 1/4 mile
I did 108 mph I can see what he's doing here, goading me,,,, it's working
Now I note my car is the 47 th fastest Tvr ,,,, yes it is, until someone proves there's is faster tongue firmly in cheak
Shaky is a great day out
The times are so tight if I was to knock just over 3/4 second off my fastest time I'd jump into the top 20 and above Nick. Sounds impossible to me
Anyway just shows you
Also Peter Jacksons time should but him 34th but he's up there at 45 th or something, not that I'm looking or anything
It's important to also note that these times are for all Tvr cars that have bothered putting times on the board so not just Chims and Griffs.
this is serious stuff!
Role on the racing and Chilli and rice and warm hearted banter.

Right then, now that we (our glorious leader) have established the base criteria for club membership I would not be adverse to resuming my role as (self appointed) club secretary
However, within my remit was the power to authorise the membership of certain individuals who may not of have met the base criteria for membership but who had redeeming qualities that far outweighed the simple bhp and speed measures....
If I am to resume my position of club secretary then I shall need at least three 'Ayes' from existing members...
Be it known, that in the event I am re-elected as self appointed club secretary my first action will be to make ClassicChimaera (Alun) a full club member....
What say you??
(No money has changed hands or favours promised here, just a well deserved acknowledgement to one of our best and most enthusiastic contributors)
Kind regards to all,
Chilli...
