Right then, now that we (our glorious leader) have established the base criteria for club membership I would not be adverse to resuming my role as (self appointed) club secretary biggrin

However, within my remit was the power to authorise the membership of certain individuals who may not of have met the base criteria for membership but who had redeeming qualities that far outweighed the simple bhp and speed measures....

If I am to resume my position of club secretary then I shall need at least three 'Ayes' from existing members...

Be it known, that in the event I am re-elected as self appointed club secretary my first action will be to make ClassicChimaera (Alun) a full club member....

What say you??

(No money has changed hands or favours promised here, just a well deserved acknowledgement to one of our best and most enthusiastic contributors)

Kind regards to all,
Chilli...

Aye from me.

Does Alun qualify under the new criteria? If not then he should apply for a consession that will go to the committee for discussion and a vote.

I'm touched spin

im also balls deep in Tvr shock absorber replacement, FFS so I'll have to give these recent executive decisions more consideration when tuning me car is done.

I have every intention of making it into this club virtue of my impending times on the strip. wink
The monies have been transferred into the Racing fund as per the secretaries instructions, something to do with Aston clutches, I have no clue and ask no questions.

I urge all to vote in favour of my inclusion into this esteemed club, I can ask ( Chilli two hot cars ) for my 500 quid back then biglaugh

I have to apologise to all that the figures I gave were the wrong ones. They were for those that could be considered for the board of directors.

The criteria for standard MCC membership is to achieve 1 of the following.

Dyno printout showing over 320 bhp
Timing ticket with terminal speed over 109
Timing ticket with ET of 12.499 or quicker.

I put it to the board 320 bhp for cars under 4.9L anything above that could easily get 346 bhp !
If not, they are not even trying and don't deserve your time ?

What about a hp per litre figure, 320 in a 5lt is only 64hp per Lt my little n/a 4lt is making 71hp per Lt, obviously only making the suggestion as it would let me join the big knobs. wink

Fairly public knowledge now, as the car was at Burpleigh with the bonnet up. I will post up pictures and graphs in about 4 weeks time, after it visits Jools for a new ECU and mapping session in early May. Until then ....... running in a new engine, so Miss Daisy is slipstreaming me.
I thought you mentioned that FI was 'Cheating' the last time we were at Shakey.

I have never thought that, so don't believe I said it.
I am more bothered about refurbishing the car to last the rest of my driving life. So I have had a complete body off refurb, new engine, respray and new roof over the winter. Emerald going in the week after next.
The FI was done whilst doing the rest, in order to cure my one issue with the car's performance on track days - being baulked by photocopier salesmen who cannot corner, but have an M4 on the company car scheme, so can outdrag me on the straights. ??

I'm thinking we should ban the willy waving stuff from the club forum, I mean we're all grown men here, and willy waving is sooo juvenile....

Anyway, 72.2 bhp per litre here.... NA......

Is there also a club for those of us who haven't modified our Chimaeras at all?

I suspect that I might be not only the founder, but also the only member!

Al I'll vote for you too so 'aye' from me. Thats at least 3 so you're in. And I'll use your excellent little post to gratuitously point out that my little teeny weeny 4.0 litre chucks out 355 bhp at the wheels and then there's that torquey thing too (481 hehe)

There wont be many 4.5, 5.0, 5.4 n/a, s/c or turbo that can match that torque smokinlaugh

Goatybill founded the original original club... he hates all things modified... wink

And just to add, Qbee started a mildly modified club, but it didn't get any members... Apart from which he's now discovered that his previously 'adequate' 300bhp isn't and has accordingly joined the dark side.... or cheats as he once called them wink

I soooo fancy an LS transplant... scratchchin

Turbo is just so.... council.... whistle

Hello Mac, I'm okay ta smile So what weight do you use when you calculate your bhp/ton(ne)? And do you use your flywheel output or at the wheels? Its a minefield when you start willy waving....eek
So your torquey figure is 134ft/lbs per litre? Mine's only 120 frown
