Bargain Alloy Radiator
Discussion
I fitted a 'Radtec' Ally rad last August just before my 3000 mile european Rally For Heroes. Worked perfect, 40deg C in Monaco and Nice, fans only came on for a minute or two when stopped in traffic. Followed by Stelvio pass and Autobahns!
The over cooling 'problem' shouldn't arise if as has been said, the thermostat is working correctly. Just better cooling when called for.

No cowl, but I plan to spray my current black cowl in high temp aluminium paint to match.
Not fitted yet.....this working lark is getting in the way lol
Was yours polished? They didn't bother polishing mine and so its all rubbed down with a wire brush in prep for the welding! Bit miffed about that tbh!! Not fitted yet.....this working lark is getting in the way lol

How are these arron radiators holding up, all still leak free and no problems? My radiator has just started weeping and a re-core is out of the question as it's my only car, arron radiators is only a 45 minute drive from me so I think my best bet of fixing it is to go knock on their door.

Here you go.....just arrived :-)
I actually thought the box was empty..........it really is light!!!!
I think they are a great idea, but as i dont really track my car, so no need to weight save, I just got mine recorded for 150. Are the ali ones more suseptable to stone cracks, as i have seen people put a steel mesh across to remedy this.I actually thought the box was empty..........it really is light!!!!

As for weight, the ally one must be 1/3 of the weight, pretty incredible when you are holding both.
I picked mine up, where are you based SPACEMAN?
If you do get one, make sure you obtain one with the correct lower neck as there are 2 types.
I work in Purfleet so it's only a quick run for me to drop through the Blackwall Tunnel and then fight my way down to Crystal Palace, it's a shame that they don't open on Saturday as I would probably go pick one up this weekend rather than pin my hopes on radweld and put it off until I get fed up checking it every few days..
I've got the one with the bend in the bottom pipe so was considering whether I should get the one with the hole for a sensor in it, that way I can have 3 sensors for one gauge
