you might need to take 5mm off the mounting lugs each side, mine was 3mm wider than the old one i removed, which was enough to put a scratch on the inner wing when fitting.

How does the quality of the core compare to that used by Radtec?

Does anyone know if the "supergill" type of rad, as designed by Tony Hart for Stags, are available for TVRs?

I fitted a 'Radtec' Ally rad last August just before my 3000 mile european Rally For Heroes. Worked perfect, 40deg C in Monaco and Nice, fans only came on for a minute or two when stopped in traffic. Followed by Stelvio pass and Autobahns!
The over cooling 'problem' shouldn't arise if as has been said, the thermostat is working correctly. Just better cooling when called for.

Yeah, the Radtec is supposed to be good. I suspect that you get a much better core with the Radtec radiator than the other one mentioned here. Might be worth someone getting the specification of the cores used????

Was yours polished? They didn't bother polishing mine and so its all rubbed down with a wire brush in prep for the welding! Bit miffed about that tbh!!

I have one of the aluminium rad fitted, the only thing that i have is that the temp never seems to above 50c, when in traffic it will rise, but once out of traffic it will fall to around 50c. will this cause any issues ?

bounce BUMP bounce

How are these arron radiators holding up, all still leak free and no problems? My radiator has just started weeping and a re-core is out of the question as it's my only car, arron radiators is only a 45 minute drive from me so I think my best bet of fixing it is to go knock on their door.

I think they are a great idea, but as i dont really track my car, so no need to weight save, I just got mine recorded for 150. Are the ali ones more suseptable to stone cracks, as i have seen people put a steel mesh across to remedy this.

Mine is going to need a recore at some point. Where did you get yours done may I ask?

Mine absolutely fine, no issues.

As for weight, the ally one must be 1/3 of the weight, pretty incredible when you are holding both.

I picked mine up, where are you based SPACEMAN?

If you do get one, make sure you obtain one with the correct lower neck as there are 2 types.

I work in Purfleet so it's only a quick run for me to drop through the Blackwall Tunnel and then fight my way down to Crystal Palace, it's a shame that they don't open on Saturday as I would probably go pick one up this weekend rather than pin my hopes on radweld and put it off until I get fed up checking it every few days..

I've got the one with the bend in the bottom pipe so was considering whether I should get the one with the hole for a sensor in it, that way I can have 3 sensors for one gauge hehe
