Your standard 4 litre engine would easily have done that on a decent run, mine does, they all do.You chose to bin it and replace it with a tuned(?) 5 litre engine that hopefully produces more power and that has to be paid for at the pumps, get over it or get rid of it.

As other have said the LPG cost is the reason.The trick is to get a good reliable conversion done (that doesn't reduce the boot space) at sensible money to make it cost effective.
Most owners do below average annual mileage making it harder to justify the expense.

I bet you could get 30mpg with the 5l if it`s setup properly
