because if you work in the cost difference then it would compare to over 40mpg

Whish I could get 29mpg ...mine seems to guzzle it ! even if I take my time ..My lambdas are not working so it could be that .

Your standard 4 litre engine would easily have done that on a decent run, mine does, they all do.

You chose to bin it and replace it with a tuned(?) 5 litre engine that hopefully produces more power and that has to be paid for at the pumps, get over it or get rid of it.

I'd be pleased as Hell to get 19mpg, never mind 29mpg.
Though to be honest, I stopped checking a long time ago.

As other have said the LPG cost is the reason.

The trick is to get a good reliable conversion done (that doesn't reduce the boot space) at sensible money to make it cost effective.

Most owners do below average annual mileage making it harder to justify the expense.

Even tuned they can be efficient on low load cruising ..The engine only needs so much petrol and no more ..

I bet you could get 30mpg with the 5l if it`s setup properly
