After very nearly overheating (yet again...), I've just found one of my fans has died.
Can someone point me in the directions of the right screws to remove to pull one of the fans off the radiator please? There are two screws on top of the radiator that look like they might be something to do with it - or do I need to fish around in front of the fan to remove the four hex-headed screws around the fan itself... Knowing my luck it's gonna the latter
Thanks,
Mark

It's also well worth checking the fan connectors that lurk at the bottom/underneath the radiator. I found only one fan working one day in a traffic jam - it turned out to be dirty contacts in the connector - as soon as I got one working the other one stopped! Be careful to do this only when the car is cold!
Short out the otter switch to check that they work while it's cold.

Hi All,
I'm pretty sure it's the fan that's gone - the remaining fan works fine on both connectors and I've swapped them a couple of times... I'll try again just to make sure though...
I was afraid you might say that. I couldn't find any underneith while groping around - it's kinda tight down there! Will the fan come off by removing the four screws around the fan itself or do these have a nut on the other side of them that's gonna fall off when I try and undo them?
Thanks for the suggestions,
Regards,
Mark

But if you still want to remove the fans then there are 2 small bolts top and bottom of the fans attaching them to the radiator - should be easy enough to see. I think you'll need to remove them both at once.

I think I just answered my own questions. Firstly it was the connectors, even though swapping them around only made the one fan work... They were more corroded than I thought! And secondly, there is I believe there is a nut behind the four screws that hold the plastic fan surrounds in place, one of mine is now nicely loosened (oops!) Oh well, at least it's working now!
Cheers all,

Mark,
Each fan is bolted to it's own mounting plate with 4 bolts and nuts.
I've you've partially undone one of the bolts that holds on the fan to the plate then you'll have to take the plate off the rad to re-tighten the bolt.
To remove the mounting plate remove the top two screws (easy bit) and the two underneath.
I got to them through the front of the car through the gap (had to remove the number plate)
