Thanks guys, the thread has been resurrected, conversion was done early 2013.. was £900, same (I believe) as the Mk3 units but with VAG (Golf) headlamp units... Really pleased I did it, so much nicer in my opinion than the earlier units.....

Chilli smile
So £900 2 years ago. Add a bit for inflation so say £950.

Given the a*&e ache trying to sort out any problems with the existing lights this is quite attractive!

I guess the golf lights are E4 fittings?, nothing flashy like LEDs??

Update:
Sportmotive website still quotes 750+VAT=900!

I have no idea who offers the better workmanship but...

Do the headlamp bezels and/or old headlights have any secondhand value?

The other option is to have a go at it yourself. I think the full kit from fibreon is about £450 if I recall correctly and although time consuming not difficult. Can be daunting taking the angle grinder to the bodywork though. The golf lights are H4 so plenty HID or LED options

A big +1 for Central TVR, they did mine 2 years ago, along with a HID conversion.

If the old headlights are in good condition, then yes, very saleable smile

Mods - can you please ban Andav469 from posting photos. It is his car that is pushing me closer and closer to having this conversion done.

The only thing that is stopping me is changing the car from original looks... (Stupid really). I'm still looking to see what a formula red Chim would look like with the conversion but I can't find one. It looks better to me on bright coloured cars and my car is certainly bright.

There is nothing stopping you going back to standard, it would just have to be combined with a front end respray

It's owned by a friend of mine, so you wouldn't find it by a Google search smile

They looked great on the Paris Blue but after dropping them all over the A5 I thought it was time for a respray as the blue was a bh to match !!!!!!!

The lights were the cheap bit cos I got so fed up struggling with a small garage and tent I built a new one!!!

Its the dogs doo daa's all insulated, pitched roof, heating and cooling with aircon vinyl floor full cabinets 2 post lift, just finishing fitting it out so can get back on with the Chim rebuild

Why oh why did you have to show a Yellow Chimaera with the conversion ?

Can this be reversed easily, or this a permanent change?

Just thinking about resale, really.

Yes it can be reversed but only by a body shop, would probably best be combined with a front end respray
