Front Indicator Replacement

Hi all,

i´m looking for replacing all indicators / Indicator lenses from amber to clear or grey.
The side indicators are really easy to find, if looked after fiesta spare parts and ordered some in clear or grey.

But the front indicators drive me crazy. I think i´ve read all PH-postings within griff/chim from first to last line

There ist so much probably, may-be, have-seen, i-know-someone-who-knows-someone, as-far-as-i-know....

On my 96 Chim are pretty flat 75mm lenses without chrome ring or fitting holes. That means: No ugly LR Lamps. (and i don´t want to change to ugly in future)
All the hints looking for military supplier, racetec, the tvr shop,.... do not help.

Alternatives like using side-indicators, motorbike-indicators may cause problems, when stopped and checked.
ECE terms are different and E numbers pretty easy to compare.

The almost best replacement, i found, is from Wika.

Internet shows me, it´s not useful to know the partnumber, or the make.
It´s much more useful to know, on what car, bike, boat, train, rocket, whatever, the part originally was fitted. (like the side-indcator).
And then search for aftermarket alternatives.

Anyone able to investigate further on?

these are LR side indicators AND UGLY

The white ones are only for reverse light.
That doesn´t help me.

Thank you, that page looks new for me - but as well no variety of lights or indicators.

traces? If there where any....

He guys - there is a really big difference between those LR egg cups and chim front indicators.
These are nearly the same in size:

You have flatish lenses that look nothing like the 'ugly' egg cup land rover ones?

We need photos of them, they dont sound like anything I've seen yet

Here ist is:



It´s the usual Lucas FV760734, as fitted at almost all Griff/Cerb/Chim.

The Lucas parts group fitting LRs:

FV760732 Stop/Tail
FV760733 Turnlight Rear
FV760734 Turnlight Front
FV817224 Side Light (without reflector)
FV861059 Tail Light
FV939003 Fog Lamp
FV939004 Reversing Lamp

The FV817224 is obviously used as clear front indicator replacement from several TVR owners.
Should be marked with 5 or 6 above the circle showing E11.
The front indicators are marked with 1, ther rear indicators with 2a and brake light with S1.

I don´t want to be a nitpicker, but if i glue those wrong 30€ up to 89€ (!) parts in and TÜV/MOT complain...
Further more: The diameter(85mm) from diagram does not match with mine(75mm)...

Argh, I don't know. I'm going to have to measure mine now, I've never looked that closely at them and need to know myself now

Yes that's what I have on mine. I am looking at some slightly smaller units that are l.e.d along with side repeaters. It means changing the mesh the indicator fits into but I think it will be worth it.

If you go led you may be taking the dash top off there's some diodes in there for the ind/haz circuits I think

If you go LED you can wire resistors in at the LED end to compensate...

What kind of legal, clear/grey front indicators would be the choice?

Change the bulb to an orange one ....job jobbed.
