Just replaced some of those ebay Honda droplinks (on a Honda)
The rubber seems to be poor quality and quickly perishes subjecting the joint to dirt; it quickly wears.
I put on original Honda ones at £38 each, they last ages.

Good man!

It saves time to do other things and hopefully puts cash into R&D work for other improvements!

Well i strangely found drop links to be the single biggest improvement to the handing above other upgrades - originally with Steve Heath's Rose Jointed links & then latterly Leven links which look like they will last a bit longer but not as sharp as SH's.

My advice would be don't skimp in this area, a good return on your investment.

If anyone wants a set of SH drop links send me a PM 10k miles

Anyone tried these?

Mk3 Mondeo Rear links, it appears that you just need to drill the plate out on the wishbone to accept the 10mm diameter shaft as opposed to the 8mm original fitment and a small spacer / thick washer to make them the same length as original.

The advantage that i see is that you have a ball joint at both ends, reducing the twist effect on the wishbone plate.

Any views?

Carizma were one of the first to fit the Lupo lights ,they are a long way from you and will cost £500 to supply and fit

What's your front end paintwork like? Do you by any chance have a respray planned for the near future?

My front end does have a few stone chips here and there, not planning on a front end respray just yet, want to fit the lupo lights first but don't know where to start. I suppose I should remove the original ones first. or keep original for now.

I asked because Central TVR do a front end respray with super-hard lacquer for £800 plus VAT.
They also do a fully fibreglassed in set of small Tuscan headlights, complete with front end respray and super-hard lacquer for £1150 plus VAT.
So a set of new headlights for £420 inc VAT......so long as you already need a respray - like I do

I think centraltvr are too far away for me as my tvr is not road legal at the mo..have still got plenty to do on it over the winter months. i think the chassis n outriggers are ok the wishbones all round could do with a repaint as existing paint is flakey..got new water pump to fit..sort out leaky sump.. Upgrade dash switches..sort out electrics..electric windows slow..fit electric power steering..fit new clutch n interior..the list goes on..might think about having car resprayed as i dont like the colour at the mo..Brooklands green with green rag top

Back on topic.

My new chim was utterly silent over bumpy pot holed roads which was a revelation compared to my old chim that was rattly.

I transfered the Leven drop link set from my old chim to the newer one and bugger me, that now rattles away!

I have ordered a set of the Mondeo links to test as they are cheap, I'll fit them this weekend and report.

It seems that the Steve Heath and the Leven ones are all rose jointed and by the very nature of a rose joint there is the opportunity to rattle.

All the OE ones have a rubber bush/joint and unless these are completely worn, will be silent.

I understand that the rose jointed items will be hardier items when fitted correctly but the silence of the cheaper OE ones, (even though they may not last for so long) may be desirable for most people.

Watch this space.

Hi Phazed..ive just fitted leven ones all round as mine were shot. Not had the chance to see if they rattle on the open road yet as the car is not road legal at the mo..if they do rattle when its road legal then i will try the mondeo route..

My Levens have done about 5-10K miles and don't appear to be worn.

We will see.

So why do they rattle. Can understand they are rose joints. I dont think formula one teams would the same problems..
