You've got that seat of your pants feel back then Peter,
Looks really good with the body colour.
Another thing on the list then, interior to match the seats?!!

Peter, is that a huge improvement over the standard seats??? Lateral restraint doesn't look huge in the pics, but I guess it is???

I'm not sure what seat to go for, the kart seats are great, but they'd look a bit odd in the Chim smile

i had the elise seats in my griff, you definitely feel more supported, and surprisingly they're pretty comfortable on long runs.

Well since December the weather has generally been rubbish!

A few things have been done since then, new diff polybushes, new drop links and most importantly the fitting of lovely new Nitron Pro 46mms!

I made the journey down to Mat Smith Sports Cars where Mat carried out a full geo, set all relatively at standard + a bit more camber front and rear

I recently fitted a SPA digital oil pressure/oil temp gauge which is superb, I can't stop looking at it!

Yesterdays antics involved the replacement of my ally radiator for a nice new Aarron rad, a lovely bit of kit for about £280 + VAT.

While I was down there I made some mods regarding the oil cooler that wasn't cooling much.

There is a big fibreglass lip at the bottom of the rad so I trimmed this away for better air flow in the position I wanted the oil cooler and moved the cooler directly in front of the rad.

I then cut out the silly little slots that are under the front valance and enlarged the aperture. I had some ally mesh in stock so this was used as a stone guard. I will spray this to match the body at some time.

I remounted the horns out of the airflow and repositioned the air filter at the bottom of the nose.

All this is to improve airflow to the rad and oil cooler.

Next on the list is a bespoke cowl from the new aperture to the oil cooler to ensure it gets the full ram effect of air to aid cooling.

Peter my oil temp gauge and sender as arrived , I can remove the oil pressure sender and fit it in that position but still struggling what goes where .

I`m a aware a tee can be purchased or made so the oil pressure sender and warning switch can be fitted at the side but not found anything to date . Do you have any pictures thanks

I wonder how many of us will be cutting up the bodywork after seeing that, badass idea.

Not me, surley that will create lift at the front

At what speed would that take effect, maybe create some drag but would it cause lift by slowing the air,
Unless your on a very long straight I'd of thought its negligible. Someone far cleverer than I can gladly inform me if I'm wrong.

Im no areo expert but filling the nose cone from the bottom can't be good, then again theres a big hole above it, probably make no odds

I'm not sure why the original vents for the oil cooler were deemed so inadequate. The air flow at even a slow speed should be ample. Here are the vents in mine (although I don't have an oil cooler fitted, that's the radiator you can see):

It may seem that way but your shot of the vents is taken at an angle.

If you look at the vents straight on there is hardly any aperture.

Where the oil cooler was originally placed, adjacent to the vents, what air enters can flow around the cooler.

The new position allows better cooling and the enlarged aperture is in line with the cooler.

As stated previously, this will be ducted in.

IIRMSPC, air is a fluid with similar properties to water. Air or water will always take the easiest route, so will only go through your oil cooler in enough quantity, rather than around it, if you give it no alternative. Peter's plan is correct.

An oil cooler, by definition will have hot oil in it. This will warm the adjacent air which will rise or at least create a low pressure environment.

Cooler air will therefore be drawn through the vents to replace the rising warmer air. I doubt it matters at what angle the vents are provided as long as there are some, surely?

If it is the intention to create some kind of ram air cooling then fair enough.

The rate the cool air is being drawn through the grill to displace the moving warm/hot air like you say will not be adequate to do much cooling it really needs to be forced through the oil coolers matrix I cant see a problem with what Phazed as done even if its not the most attractive wink
