not bad considering only just over 300 lb/ft.
The Mickey Thompsons have to be worth a few tenths

Because i leave the line on sticky tyres like a scalded cat and you struggle for traction on street rubber then your superior power makes up later.

First, the chimmy forum is by far the most fun and interesting smile

Second, I reckon if I were to fit my stage 4 heads, fit a solid cam and lifters, increase airflow to the triple plenum and have the map tweaked to suit I'll quite possibly achieve 380.

As it stands the motor runs really well and I shall leave it as is till at least winter 2014 wink there's various other minors to address first.

Peter you need an ls...just make the jump across to the new era. Seems alot of money now but it won't be long term.

I have a very nice car now so who knows what the future holds?

If I did, I'd get a kit of parts first before doing anything.

500 ponies easy wink

Now I've driven a 480hp LS Cerb, & trust me 500 should be about right in a Chimaera yes

4.0ltr pre-serp Super Charger (SC Power) running up to 10 boost, standard cam, Emerald ECU, still has main cat, Engineer1949 built it (see http://tvrengineer.co.uk/)

351 bhp 376 lbs

just a little more info on the 4.0ltr build the internals are standard apart from all being balanced old school style ,the manifolds are matched and cleaned up with bullet tip guides the plenum is increased in volume with shortened and flared trumpets and a heat soak gasket between plenum base and manifold all done to assist air flow it has the later type swirl pot and a catchment tank the rest you know.

I can't find a graph but my old 5 litre made 355hp in it's final evolution, so 71hp/litre. I'd do things a bit differently now though ..

The engine was a stock 5litre so internally nothing was touched apart from to put it together with new bearings (i bought the engine in bits but as it turned out was in good condition anyway). I'd go for a V8D 5litre if money allowed and get away from the std 5litre tvr crank. I've never personally see one break but there are people on here who have had it happen sadly.
My 5litre made good top end but the mid was always a little bit soft so I'd try and push the compression as far as possible within the limits of the combustion chamber design detonation limits and also do some more playing around on the inlet system as my dyno plays showed there was more to come there. Something for another day though.

Our old 4ltr in the racer (mgb then griff) made 380bhp and 310lbft. That was fun!! New 5ltr made 355/355 when brand new! Settled in a bit now so will be back to rr over the winter after a quick rebuild for some fine tuning!! I will dig the rr sheets out and work out how to put them on here...

95hp per litre from a normally aspirated Rover V8 yikes

Very impressive indeed, but be honest, would you class it as a drivable road car or a balls out racer?

Looking at the torque vs BHP figures, I'm guessing it made that BHP around 6800-7000rpm or similar..?

Guys, not wishing to piss on someones fireworks, but I seem to remember not too long back on here that a serious amount of work had to be done on a RV8 to achieve monster status [300hp]. Now it seems everyones doing it, so, what's changed? Just a thought scratchchin
