That's losing 60bhp through the transmission???!!!! Something wrong there surely!

I may be wrong, but I've yet to see a dyno with more than 360bhp from a NA 500.... whistle
Now if a 500 can produce 360 brake then a 550 should produce 396 brake if all was equal.

Mine only produces 385 so with a solid cam I should be there.

BTW, I recently found that out of the 3No carbon fibre trumpets in the neck of my triple plenum, 2 has come out and were rattling about in the inlet in front of the TBs!

So should be a few more BHP there then smile

Probably not far off, seems to be about right for dyno dynamics rolling road. Mine was 216 wheels / 270 fly, so 54 hp losses. Apparently it's to do with the smaller diameter rollers giving much higher tyre losses than other brand dynos or summat.
Where/how would you get a true reading then?

at a dragstrip wink

Rolling raod figures are all over the place... especially when it comes down to calculated flywheel figures.

True, but surly the dragstrip isn't 100%, strong tail wind = a better terminal and a strong head wind = a lower terminal, + some drag strips seem to get better results then others? plus gearing etc....

Only way is to take the engine out of the car and run on a well set up engine dyno (even these vary!)
I've got a V8D 5 litre marcos on jenveys in at the moment .. on the dyno this afternoon.

True the wind can have a big effect.
On similar days weather wise and on any drag strip your terminal speeds should be a very good indication of BHP for a given kerbweight. People that go to RWYB will notice most of there terminal speeds are within a mph or 2 but the ET could be all over the place due to wheelspin at the startline etc.
Gearing can have some effect on the terminal speed but will be a constant for that car.

Basically if you return to a dragstrip and you are slower through the trap then you either have less power or the winds in your face hehe

With 329 bhp terminal = 113 at best, with + 170 nitrous = 129

Agree with all that.

Look at the consistency of the last 3 runs.

Have I missed this or have you just come out of the garage?

That's probably one of the most impressive torque curves I've seen .... clap
I bet that's stunning on the road.

Though its more like a flat line than a actual curve

Why does the graph end where it does? Did the rolling road operator hit the limiter?

BHP is still rising...

The car was built by Sportmotive using there evolution chassis which is wider and stronger making the crate LSA engine a good fit. The Dyno stops where it does as we hit the Rev limiter and I didn't see much point in raising it as with so much torque coming in low down I never need to take it above 4000 anyway. I will try to load some better photos later of the installation, but these were taken during build.

Thats a beautiful build and awesome power, but I must ask ... why? Shirley a 6.2 chim will be mental, uncontrollably fast, let alone the supercharger?

Holy Mother of God eek

That's got more torque at 1400rpm than I've got at 5500 silly must be hilarious to drive biggrin

Be interested to know what gearbox/diff/half shafts you're using smile

With the Sportmotive chassis and wider wheels it's actually easier to drive than when it was a std 4.0
Gearbox is T56 magnum and BTR diff.
Only being used for road use so far and only done 1500 miles since rebuild but planning to get it on the track next year.
