Yes - mine have 100,000+ miles on them ... the last 40,000 or more from an ass that wouldn't even fit in your seats! biggrin

I did try and fit it with the Lotus runners but it raises the seat by a tad, a tad too much!

We'll see, I need to take them to my upholsterer pal for a look see.

I must sit in those seats next time we meet up Pete. Looking at them in these pics, they seem to have very little side/slide support?

Deceptive.

I just took my black Elise seat out and went for a country lane drive with the standard seats.

I absolutely HATE the standard seats! No centre of the back support, too high, bouncy like a bouncy thing and you slide off the sides worse then just about any car I've driven mad

I'm really tempted to slot in the old mismatched Elise seat just for the better experience.

There are those that think the seat is fine but honestly, it's rubbish!

I agree about the mk2 seats. The earlier Chim seats are better. The new ones look better but dont really support the lower back at all

I have the advantage that my ass wedges in between the door pocket and the transmission tunnel quite well... hehe

I HATED the standard seats - so much so that I got rid of them within 4 weeks of buying the car.

Replaced with Tuscan seats that are tremendous...although they are unbelievably heavy!

I also need to adjust the drivers seat as it's angled a fraction off centre

An Elise seat weighs a fraction of a chim seat!

Absolutely. I've got a spare set of seats for the vx220 but before fading around test fitting them, I asked the other half to sit in the vx and see what she thoughto ft he seats.

"No chance"

At least she was honest lol!

'misteradz' (has a very long back so OE seats v. uncomfortable...) has recently fitted MX5 seats and is very happy with them although they sit a couple of inches higher so slightly more wind bufetting.
That last point about the seat sitting higher is interesting, and may be of interest to the OP.
I am only 5 ft 11 these days, but on track, with the roof on, my crash helmet is very close to the targa hoop and the roof. I don't have a problem with the roll cage because mine is far enough back in the car, but others may if their roll cage is further forwards.
Guys, Paul is correct that I have fitted these seats. You do sit slightly higher. I'm 5ft 11 and have a long body and stumps for legs (not literally!) Both Paul and I have noticed that in cold weather your noggin does feel the chill a bit more! But they are great for comfort. No more achy back from the standard seats-would only get uncomfortable on a long run though. I originally changed them as the wife and i had planned to drive to Norway and back this year but our little daughter came along and changed that!

If anyone wants any info or help message me and I'll be happy to help.

I do like them...

And they are cheaper than having my TVR seats re-covered....

Comments from anyone who has fitted them are welcome.

Ive sat in that car ,they hold you in ,there are two widths to choose from . These were purchased from the Newark kit car show .

Rob who owns the car had back ache with the standard seats ,these seats cured his back .

Rob goes to a lot of shows so you will probably see this car around .

i think they are a jaguar colour .
