Massive step in my body off over the weekend ... the body went back on bounce

Really pleased with how smoothly it went and it feels like another major milestone passed. Although there was one slight oversight. I forgot to lift the handbrake vertical banghead Oops. Only realised when the body was down and it was trapped in the transmission tunnel. Not too much of a headache to rectify. The end is now, finally, coming into sight.

Best photo I have at the moment as it was getting pretty dark by the time I finished.

And also put the fuel tank back in and left out the annoying CD changer bracket that wasn't being used. Couple of holes showing, but better than having that bracket which always seemed to get in the way. So some free Kenwood CD changer brackets to anyone who wants them.

As I stated perviously on here, I'm still not too sure if its a bit too much. Will wait until its full of exhaust manifold and various pipe work before getting too worried...

I really do like it, it would be a very boring place with everyone doing white, when I do mine it will be a stupid colour,

Is it just the rolling chassis you did?

Entire chassis + wishbones were stripped down, blasted, new outriggers and powder coated. Its ended up a total overhaul really. Most ancillaries (arb mounts and brackets, engine mounts, diff brackets etc) have had the complete POR 15 treatment. Polybushes, new nuts and bolts. The list is massive (link to my blog in my profile).

Hopefully by the time I've finished it will outlast me laugh

Its looking ace Chris, welldone indeed. Hey what's wrong with white! Red blue black anythings better than rust attacking it.
I think it looks good with the body colour, the wishbones will blend and look the dogs.

Spraying the runners is not the answer, at best it is a short term fix, at worst it attracts more dust & grit. Replacing the rubbers and improving the crap wiring is the only answer. My V8S windows would grind to a stop part way up, I have now replaced the runners and fitted a relay mod that allows for 20amp wiring to be used for the supply; the windows now rise quicker than on my modern daily drive.

I was shocked to see Ed China spray the window runners on an S that featured on Wheeler Dealers, definitely not a fix!
Thank you for this. Not sure I can explain the relay part to the shop, but while it is away now I can definitely ask if they can replace the runners - if available....
Woolies supply the rubber runners. If yours are in good nick they should have a felt-like lining; if you can see rubber, they are shot. I have written an article for Sprint, (which may or may not appear this month) that outlines how I did the relay mod. I passed it to a fellow S owner to test and he reports the same positive results as I got on mine.

Bored a plenum out a bit over 72mm...

Made a bush for the idle screw & seat and managed to get it out to 75.48mm whilst exploring the capability of my jig hehe

Just cutting a butterfly then need to melt on the 89mm collar ready for a nice big 90deg bend wink

I'm loving the evening sun. Means I can get a couple hours each night on the car. Started stripping it down and gave the manifold to a mate to decat/cone
