Just introduced these lumps to each other, ready to drop in tomorrow eve once I get the cross member out the way. They seem to be getting on well... wink

Looking good, will you be turning the outlet through 90 degrees? have you a mapper in mind? [jeeez, sound like Daz hehe ] can't recommend Bailey Motorsport enough. Good to see you again mate and keep us posted, looking forward to it.
PS; nice touch on the wastegate feed less than 90 degrees.

The outlet is in the orientation I need - not going to be using an air/air intercooler smile

I've kept the card for Bailey Motorsport; certainly tempting...

Of course, you did say. Deffo for Bailey. Again if you didn't see edit, nice touch on wastegate feed less than 90 degrees. smile

Thanks - I'm not sure what real effect that actually has but read the Precision bumph faithfully and think as much as practicable of the optimums have been achieved. It's surprisingly difficult to get it all to hang just right; I really do need to learn to weld as I was dying to start cutting and shutting when the Mk I didn't quite line up. The very first sketch I did had a pair of siamesed wastegate feeds spurring at a very shallow angle off the two branches of the Y - Cliff went into meltdown when I asked him if he was up for making it initially hehe

Nice one Pupp!

Got any pictures of the charge cooler?

I got a mx5 rad at mine if you want to grab it to experiment with it as a heat exchanger,

Some nice pics in this thread! I'm very jealous!

I did nothing major, trimmed the front number plate down as I have a 6 digit reg and the standard 520mm plate looked ridiculous and fixed my inoperative fan - just a dirty connection on the plug.

There really are some very nice conversions going on at the moment, nice quality not just thrown together.

The non twiddlers probably don't realise the work that goes into these, always far more then you anticipate.

Good work men thumbup

Had a chat with Alex.
Told him that I have enough power and wasn't going to do any more to my lovely track tool.
Received a suggestion of sex and travel back.

Decided that IF I ever converted mine, I would take it completely to pieces, refurbish the chassis, change those ridiculous headlights, respray the body, re-trim the interior, and then replace everything else, the entire mechanical, electrical and cooling systems, with an LS engine, matching gearbox and LS compatible running gear, cooling and electricals.

After two years of watching Alex struggling to do it on a budget, and having seen the fantastic results that so many have achieved in so many ways, budgeting from the start to completely refresh the car seems to be the route of least agony and heartache, and for me (but I accept not for others), the LS route is the best solution to create a 21st Century Chimaera.

The only question is what could I buy with that sort of money?

Its much cheaper and simpler to fit a nitrous kit. Just saying whistle

I bet you have spent more than a turbo conversion on refils though.

And all the messing around with refils would do my head in.

Great power though Derek you can't deny nitrous does work initial cost is low.

Not my garage - Tamy was given a spa day at Str8six. All is well again - except for the list of 43 'items' that need attention.

Sprayed a panel when I got back.
