Yep, thats a Bosch rotary style idle valve wink they was always very reliable on the VW/Audi cars that had them fitted back in the 80's on biggrin

Spent the last hour changing the bushes in my 'new' front upper wishbones. This is what came out, are they standard TVR? They're like polybush design but made out of normal rubber, a bit pants, no wonder they all fall apart.

It is the best shape with the 90deg bend IMHO, but ideally you want it with the arrow the other way (some BMWs & Saabs IIRC) then it fits in nicely along the throttle linkage ~ like the picture you'd end up with the connector banging on the bulkhead IYSWIM.

Goodbye stepper motor & housing, I think with the cam I intend to use this will just get it's knickers in a twist and cause inconsistent idle & low speed issues so it's gone yuck and my defaced (that's why they was cheap) TVR rocker covers modded for a pukka PCV valve system scratchchin no more updates I am still waiting for my heads ..

You do right Simon without a doubt. I did away with mine and don`t run any idle valve at all. The Emerald copes with it so well from cold, winter or summer, you really wouldnt know it wasnt there.

Swapped around the number plate surrounds between the VAG stable.

Replaced the damaged wing on the Beast.

Did some kitchen works too.

Charge cooler mounts done today in 6mm ally - picked up two points on water pump face and one on head. Rock solid and just under bonnet line whilst being well away from exhaust so pretty happy but will have another go at boost pipe as should be possible to reduce number of clamped joints by using a straight pipe angled diagonally and two 45 degree silicone elbows. Also messed about with a JE 'straight-out' thermostat housing as getting a tad congested now but needs a different style of stat as the one I have won't go under the cover (the bridge is too wide).

Well, we'll see, thanks smile

But the much shorter air runs will hopefully compensate for the weight penalty...
