I've been busy cleaning back and painting my chassis. Whilst 'in there', I've had the prop removed and UJ's replaced, new fuel filter, new exhaust flexi-joint welded on. Have also scraped back the front wishbones, replaced front drop links, new water pump gasket, had rocker covers powder coated, painted plenum,painted wiper motor and heater rails, new heat shield on off-side, new t-bolts on all hoses, had manifolds sand blasted and port matched them to the gaskets, new bushes for the exhaust tray, new front drop links and thrust washers. Plus new engine mounts, oil filter, sump gasket, oil change and new ChimpOnGas style sump plug. I'm doing this on my drive at the moment.

Just got to get the centre chassis on axle stands now so I can sort out the rear wishbones and outriggers. Will then put exhaust back on, ARB, new rear drop links, y-piece, change diff oils, change gearbox oil, fit JE alternator bracket. Whilst this is being done, I need to get the front pulley off, a trigger wheel added and it fully balanced again. I'll then replace the cross member in the bay then and sort out the coolant and then MOT time. Wideband lambda and boss arrived yesterday. Bosch coil packs came today, courtesy of Phazed. Megasquirt looming. Still some more work to do, but it's coming together.

I've also managed to build a 12sqm shed to accommodate the contents of my garage so I can have a new home for the Chim. Leaving it outside for the winter isn't good for them! Pics below...

Painted prop with new UJs

Chassis (painted)

Blasted manifolds with new heat shielded engine mounts behind, plus powder coated rockers

Engine bay, heat shielding and wrap on manifolds.

Wishbones

Front drop-links

More wishbones!

My new garage!

And workbench!!!

I have exactly the same cooling system for my beer. Very efficient.

Loving the down lighters, I will be stealing that idea.

Does it count if I didn't do it, and it isn't my garage?

Replaced 4 x tyres, after 15 years!
Replaced headlight adjust screws.
New air filter and full service
New belts
Fuel lines replaced under bonnet

Motorbike serviced and fourth cylinder Re introduced.
New rear tyre
New fork seals

Best get working to pay for that lot

Expect cleaning and polishing photos next week.

Liking the mood-lit workbench; please tell me it has remote dimming too! cool

Tonight I have cut and squared off some 44mm pre-bent stainless tube that will be the wastegate exit pipe, to accept its clamp ring. Also hacked into ECU loom to add MAP sensor signal line and splice into +5v and ground points. Surprised myself by finding spare Emerald terminal pins squirrelled away years ago for just this occasion biggrin

Extra pin installed and +5v tapped; ground still to do but happy with that

Down lighters were cheap. Best buy was the heavy duty engineer's vice with 8" jaws for £7 of the bay. A bit of paint a some grease, does the job perfectly.

Anyway, JE alternator clamp fitted today. What effing size is that Allen key for the recessed Allen bolt? I need to tighten it properly before I fit the belt.This also forced me to sort out a few of hoses. Also refitted sump with new rubber gasket, bolts and spring washers, plus filled with Penrite. Dropped off y-piece to get wideband lambda boss welded on. Onto the outriggers and rear suspension tomorrow... De-Waxoil on the cards... Closing in!! Working at weekend, so on hold again then.

I had to manually build this by hand to empty the garage. Couldn't simply buy a shed due to the bloody building regs as I had to use a stretch a raised land at the rear of the garden!. 4x3m though, so what it lacks in internal height, it makes up in space... Bit of a whopper. Gotta get the rest of the raised land paved and a little landscaping now. This was knackering. Car first though.

On Samy;
Moved the fan overide and boot switches on to the centre console. Then checked the bolts on the rear CV joints. Getting a knock from the back end. I know the gearbox and dif mounts need looking at, although I have the rear dif and gearbox mounts waiting to be fitted.

On Tamy;
Drained and flushed the coolong system. Fitted a complete set of ACT silicone hoses and filled the system with a fresh 50/50 mix.

I knew you were going to do it ! Your engine needs them ,does that mean another trip up north to collect the 380hp cool

While he is at it he could swop for the Emerald and sell your old one ..Proper perfect fueling with the three way switch for maps .

How soon will the Turbo install ?
