I have just overlayed the graph from Barries 70 shot of nitrous run onto Peters and there is barely any difference between the 2 from 3200 rpm upto 6000 rpm. Amazing!
Should be an excellent race.

Get practising those launches and reaction times guys.

Are you awarding a prize (perhaps one of your broken drive shafts, suitably mounted) for the first broken drive train between Barrie and Peter? smash

Moved a load of car stuff from current gaff to workshop attached to double garage in new gaff smile Stood in new garage and pondered, it's carpeted and it stinks.... So, carpet will have to go, and appropriate new floor covering put in.... presuming it's concrete... probably paint it, after sealing if required... Has a ceiling, but might rip that out to expose beams and roof.. maybe insulate roof scratchchin also need to look at two post lifts smile

what's the back end like, you doing anything to that? I've never been close up to these things, didn't realise stuff like this was available for it. Got a build thread going on anywhere??

will set soemthing up in the classic Z car forum biggrin next step new wheel bearings, rear suspension, ebc yellow stuff brake pads all around, second silencer to calm it down a bit and then a proper geo setup.
once that is done interior will follow but will stay original except of seats rollbar some additional gauges steering wheel and seats. currently car is mapped at 85 octane us fuel redcard with 220 horses. new map with 98 will follow and i guess there is some room for more. once that is done happy hunting for classic porkers tank

miss the chim but not driven for some weeks now. driveshaft boots and some other things need to be done first but currently garage is blocked biggrin

Fitted nice new set of BR8ECS plus new set of Beru non-resistive extenders (getting difficult to find now) - very pleased to find it was (relatively) easy to get to the nearside ones without disturbing the chargecooler.

Also offered up Cerb Speed 6 air filter box for size and likely fit. Not far off at all; can feel some surgery coming on smile

I've also got the 8 rated plugs in with a 25 thou' gap (thanks for the tip Gary) and engine seems to run better than with the 7's (arguable issue it seems depending on who you talk to), am also thinking about improving air intake flow but don't wish to plagiarise, but have been thinking along similar lines. Good luck with progress, any launch date yet ??

Eights will take a bit of heat away from the chamber without being too prone to cold fouling; I'm sort of stuck too as I need a resistor plug and there is no resistive variant of the B7ECS (still not convinced about delicate little iridiums in a FI application). No worries on the air intake - if you beat me to a good design, you can make me one too!

Currently got about as far as I can until the cross member is sorted - John Halstead (Engineer1949 on here) is kindly doing something cool with that now I've got my backside in gear and drawn up an idea so will update once that's in place. If I can be bothered tomorrow, will drop the PAS fluid and try shortening the return hose tail on the rack to neaten up the relationship of that with the turbo cold-side. No biggie but going to be messy. Otherwise, about there for some (very) low boost running apart from configuring the MAP corrections table for ign etc (maybe another job for tomorrow). Taxed it today so got one of the last discs smile

I went to ATS and got them to rebalance my front wheels, as I noticed there was a vibration at track speeds. Seems I had lost a stuck-on wheel weight, despite having gaffer taped over them. Got home and gaffer taped the new ones in place, in hope rather than certainty that it would help them stay on.

Yesterday Mat S changed my rear brakes and pads for me - still the standard 273mm, but now black diamond grooved disks, with Ferodo DS2500 pads. Felt very balanced today, but will test properly on Monday around Cadwell Park. They are to match with my Black Diamond 324mm fronts, with 4 pot callipers and Hawk pads.

I`m wondering if there is a 4pot caliper which will fit straight on to the original 273 vented discs . I don`t think you need anything larger.

I lost several weights last year after a reputable tyre outlet fitted new tyres..........

Got No 3 son to properly clean the inner rims, no more losses!

Had another package from furniture clinic this week so was able to finish off re-colouring the passenger door card. Then remove the passenger seat, strip it down and start work on that too.

Also had a little weep as the Japanese MOT for the FJ cost me over 1000 quid frown
