Will you trace back those blank connectors and remove the wires from the loom?
No wires will be cut or injured during this work. Tidy up only - ok am also looking for a good 12v supply somewhere in there that only comes on with the ignition. This is for powering the drive recorder mirror.

Qbee, you have mail.

Immobilizer.....no idea. I know i've not had any issues to date immobilizer related .

Might be a Japan thing, different radio frequencies allowed so they changed/removed the alarm?

Painted x-member stubs as modified by Engineer John and assembled with bridge and swirl-pot. Inlet on SP has been turned to avoid charge cooler. Has been spaced off platform to try and insulate a tad from turbo down pipe radiated heat as that lives just below.

Took out drivers seat. Removed the leather from the top of the seat. Used pieces of hard foam, shaped them and glued them to the centre part of the seat to fill the "dent" that is breaking my back. I have a long back and these seats seem to be created for Chinese children. Used my grinder with a sverve 40 grit to trim the foam in the seat the way I wanted...

Removed the sliding mechanism under the seat and fabricated two steel fixings... the seat is now 2cm lower and in a fixed position. The car is so much better to sit in now!!

Well done Ole, the standard seats are rubbish and have little support.

About to go in to the garage and change the suspension, wheels and tyres for track stuff for the next few weeks, drag and TDs.

It's tantalisingly close to being runnable Richard, thanks. Crossmember is in and very pleased with how it has lined up etc but, inevitably, there have been some snags with hose routing and biggest issue is spanner room. Hopefully get the swirl pot in tomorrow; it is a tad too close to the wastegate link pipe right on its platform so going to make up some rails to offset it slightly... This is the stuff that takes the time yes

Removed the last two stubborn bolts from chassis last night, now ready to lift body off.
But does anyone know if the holes in the fibreglass through to the outrigger are about 2", it's the bolt that the seat belt anchor goes through

The bolt between 2-3 inch long so I would not have thought your are far off that measurement, with allowance for the anchor plate in the wheel arc for seat belt, and spacers and nut on the inside to secure seat belt in car.

Just out of curiousity and honesty as i have heard some romours that people have the body in off in hours? how long has it taken you so far?

Working hours have been about 18 but it has been over about 4 months when the wife allows me, but it has been enjoyable up to pres.
Other jobs I have done seem to be a right PITA such tightening the wing mirror or removing the window motor with the window stuck down (which must have been one of the worst jobs I have ever done (except a wiper motor on a ERF )and them two jobs probably took as long as to take the body off lol

I maybe wasn't as clear with my first question I meant its a 10mm bolt but the hole in the fibre glass is about 50mm, is this just leeway for where the boss is welded to in the outrigger and wondered if that's how they are if someone has been at mine for some reason

50mm diameter is too big, I would say mine is about 15mm without measuring it. Yes your right someone has been drilling a bigger hole, but for what reason?

Holy Crap! I just spent a blooby fortune on a fully body off nuts and bolt restoration an my engine bay don't look anything like that! I'm seriously impressed bow

Ps, where did you get the braided outer sleeving to the inter cooler pipes?

Thanks Hamish, all braiding supplied by Speedflow, always very helpful. I know it's not to everyones taste but it suits me, just one p/steering hose left to do & fit an alloy reservoir & I think I'm there, at least for now !

Well it was tonight not yesterday but tried to lift body off tonight, which didn't go to well it nearly fell off the axle stands and was about 6" too low. So lowered back down and it's back to the drawing board me thinks.
