What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
Bugger all, went on a TD to Cadwell yesterday which brought up a few issues.
Find out why SPA gauge is under reading 10-12 PSI
Minor stuttering at low revs after 500+ miles driving
Fit Tubular front wishbones
Fit replacement electric PS pump, (just arrived)
Polybush suspension
Blast and paint rear wishbones
Take out clonky diff and send to John Read, (apparently common in low mileage BTRs!)
Fit new engine mounts, (killed by torque no doubt)
Fit bigger oil cooler
Fit new deeper rocker boxes
Fit new carbon fibre seats and then get them upholstered
Replumb breathers with new hoses and fit spigots to catch tank to connect.
Send new Nitrons back for revalving with a stiff note to GET IT RIGHT!
So, practically feck all really.
Anyone got an SC Z4M they don't want?

What did you do after lunch? lol
I took my diff out tonight but my body is off and I thought that was quite awkward I definitely wouldn't like to do it normally

Why do you suspect it might be?Have had no issues with the two pressure gauges I have but a couple of temperature ones (intercooler and oil) seem very sensitive to earth offsets on loom - will be calling SPA tomorrow to see if they are best earthed right back to battery -ve or need to be to chassis/engine block/whatever

Came off track, all normal just the gauge reading low.
Drove back 200 miles, oil and water temp normal but gauge under reading.
It used to idle at 25-27 psi, now 13-15 psi.
Logically there is nothing mechanical to go wrong, car still goes like a rocket!
I suspect and hope it is the SPA sender.
I ordered a mechanical oil pressure tester today so will test the system before ripping anything to bits.

I think the senders are pretty bomb proof; I'd be more looking for a wiring issue - you've not pressure washed the car and got the sender plug wet?
What oil temperatures are you seeing assuming you've got the temp/pressure dual gauge?
Nope, never pressure washed and car not washed for a week before the TD.What oil temperatures are you seeing assuming you've got the temp/pressure dual gauge?
Funny thing is the new lower pressures are consistent!
Oil temps are.
Cruising at 70mph about mid 80s
Constant traffic, mirrors water temps so about 90.
TD, I normally come off track when if hits 111-112 but I have seen 118 deg, that's with a cooler, big sump, (about 10 litres) and extra front vents.
Strange.
Sorry to hear you've got such issues......mine seemed to be running with the fans on most of the time on track, as it was a very warm day and Cadwell Park doesn't have and long straights, so you tend to stay on fairly full throttle the entire lap, just in different gears.
Hope it's something like an earth and not an engine issue. Did you use a measurable amount of oil during the 120-150 miles on track?

Must be getting cramp in your fingers there Garry with them crossed all the time. I know I'd be cacking meself!
Took the o/s headlight off the car again and reseated it as it had dropped forward at the top after I fitted the new lens last week.
Haven't reassembled it yet as not 100% sure it will stay at the correct angle.
Becoming more convinced to go down the Steve Edwards faired in Lupos route day by day.

It's been fine for many months since installation.

had two broken temp senders by the time and it seems the third one is going.....Came off track, all normal just the gauge reading low.

oil pressure sender so far is working well and anything got exchanged by SPA but
annoying by the time.

Funny that, I spoke to Spa on Thursday and they reckoned the senders never went wrong!oil pressure sender so far is working well and anything got exchanged by SPA but

Anyhoo, wasn't the sender.
I checked the pressure with a mechanical tester I bought on fleabay, (all the fittings for multi use, impressed at the product and price) the Spa was accurate to the pound.
