Just finished up on the dash and put back together. Sadly not sourced any LED's to replace the dash bulbs, but will keep that for another day. Going to have to order some new black carpets now...

Did you recolour the leather?

looks really good!

Leather re-colour, new walnut dash and a little wiring. Very pleased so far, even if I have redone a couple of parts a few times until happy with the result. Still have a couple of sections for the hood trim to do, but wil do that when I have the new hood fitted.

Just start with a small colour kit. Will have all you need in there to do the job, see the results and understand the process. You'll also find out what you'll need to order extra quantities of when you come to use it in anger. Eg I found I needed more of the leather prep liquid to do a proper/easier job of removing the old colour and leather finish.

Spaceman,
That gap looks about right to me but there should be a piece of rubber that sits in the gap.
On mine its a double sided sticky rubber seal about an inch thick that just fills the gap.

Paul.

So, over the last few days.

Got down and dirty, prepped and painted the front third of the chassis
Fitted tubular wishbones on polybushes
Fitted front Nitrons
Prepped and painted exposed chassis in both rear wheel arches
Prepped and painted engine mounts
Cut out metalastic bushes on rear top wishbones, prepped and painted them
Removed clutch fork and cylinder prior to renewing
Stripped swivels from front hubs

All jobs that were very far from exiting.

If there's one thing that I'm an expert at it's gluing things together..

Something like this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEOPRENE-SPONGE-FOAM-SEL...

I fitted it around all 4 sides.

That way the air is forced through the rad and doesn't bleed around the edges.

Sorry Stewart, my comment was meant in relation to the title of this thread. How did you get on with the rad in the end ?

Tamy has sprung a leak so am going to buy an alloy one from Aaron Radiators as they are well priced and I drive past them twice a week.

I am going to see if this new rad can fit Samy to replace the crash damaged / ruined one. If it can be made to fit then I'll get a second one. If it can't, then I'll fit it to Tamy and pay the extra for an S one for Samy.

Had the pleasure of being in Mat Smith's garage today. Separate thread for that though.

Fitted new top and bottom swivels to the front hubs, fitted hubs and connected front brakes etc.

New wishbones are tubular, have a radiused rear section for more clearance with wider wheels and more adjustment for more camber adjustment.

Polybushed part rear and assembled one side, complete suspension tomorrow.

Hopefully will get time to fit diff and connect up ready for engine next week.
