Typically there is TOO MUCH oil supply to the cam bearings.......

Builders often try and offset the bearing holes to reduce the orifice size. I find that method too hit & miss whilst trying to press in the bearing, I personally prefer to drill smaller holes in the bearings and insert them in line with the block oil supply. I always stick with real Clevites from the US (even if you have to make up sets from other strange cars), as never sure about the quality of some bearings on offer....
How many full engine rebuilds have you actually done ?

Daz, I seem to remember you running to the hills when you had a recent oil problem with your car and people on here supported you , you then have the audacity to write a quote like this, sorry mate but you are a total knob .... when in doubt.......

Not yesterday but this evening, oil catch tank fitted & plumbed (less hose clips).

Sorry Richard - I just cannot resist a terrible childish urge to mimic my 6 year old grandson and go "BROOM BROOM" at the sight of your lovely shiny engine and special TVR bonnet stay.

Looks absolutely brilliant my friend.....

Looking at the catch tank setup why the filter on the top ?, looks like to goes from rocker cover, to catch tank, to plenum box ?

I had to install a breather on each rocker, pipe to a baffled mishimoto catch tank, and then back to supercharger intake, I ditched that plenum plastic air box as its pants, found that I had better airflow without it due to the design. Found this out whilst on the dyno.

I have a rocker cover breather fitted on the n/s. The tank manufacturer recommends a breather for the tank, to my way of thinking perhaps this may help reduce the air speed further & help catch more oil in the tank, it also is baffled. I've seen pictures of your installation and it's very neat but as I still have the 14cux & standard distributor, coil etc would this allow me to ditch the secondary plenum ?

An insignificant amount compared to the number of times you have had your head stuck up your arsh wink

TBH never a full rebuild as I always get some odd thing done by folks who do it better than me...

...but I've put in a lot more cam bearings wink

I think you're under estimating the amount of times Daz inserts his cranium ....

I'd just like to state that I think all this picking on Daz is extremely unfair, the poor bloke asks a simple question and gets nothing but abuse for it.

It's just wrong.

Not totally wrong, obviously, but it is a bit unfair.

What I mean is I think it's unfair to pick on disadvantaged people. Not that I'm saying Daz is disadvantaged.

Take no notice of them Daz, I think you're OK mate wink

Had a full day planed putting the engine in.

First the clutch wouldn't line up.

Then Alex Nd Dave turned up.

At that very moment my daughter phoned in tears to inform me that she had trashed her car into a field, in between trees and wedged on a metal fence!

Feck me, that's two cars she has written off in four weeks!

Alex and Dave immediately offered assistance and with car trailer on we drove to the rescue.

Lots of stuff relating to heaving, towing out, pushing and manly swearing, daughter recovered.

Right, back to the engine. Engine out and check new McLeod clutch plate, yes I was told the wrong one, the splines are different, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Fit 8K old clutch plate, bolt engine in and call it a day,..........what a day!

The upshot is now my drive looks like a breakers yard, 10 cars and 2 trailers, I kid you not!

A big thank you to Alex and Dave who without them taking the p1ss and assisting I would be a sadder sod smile
