That's how far I got, pathetic!
A damned sight more positive than the great gaping hole that was there last week Peter.

Sorry to hear about your daughter (and another car).
She's having a rough few weeks there, (and taking you along for the ride with her).
I guess it's a push bike for the next few weeks then.

Typically there is TOO MUCH oil supply to the cam bearings.......

Builders often try and offset the bearing holes to reduce the orifice size. I find that method too hit & miss whilst trying to press in the bearing, I personally prefer to drill smaller holes in the bearings and insert them in line with the block oil supply. I always stick with real Clevites from the US (even if you have to make up sets from other strange cars), as never sure about the quality of some bearings on offer....
How many full engine rebuilds have you actually done ?
Daz, I seem to remember you running to the hills when you had a recent oil problem with your car and people on here supported you , you then have the audacity to write a quote like this, sorry mate but you are a total knob .... when in doubt.......
He is a knob with no thought for others. I remember a time when he wasn't happy with the dampeners he was using at the time, so without thought he went over to a chimaera which he knew had nitrons fitted and he began to press down hard on the back end, god only knows what he hoped to achieve, but the owner of that chimaera was pretty mad to say the least frown !!!!!!

Relax guys for goodness sake.

Viva la difference!

The world would be a greyer place without these colourful people.

So what if Daz doesn't see things the same as the norm, he's a good guy, not malicious in the slightest.......

His posts may stir but they're not boring wink

Where was that and when ? Are you exaggerating ? I may of gave the rear end a quick nudge when indulging in conversation (probably getting a little over excited) but i can`t imagine my self pushing the back end up and down in that manner .

Are you in the Eastmids TVR car club? Ive never been rude to you or anyone in your little group !

Kinda drifting OT.

Getting back on topic. I also cleaned up two bikes ahead of Friday's visit to Wales.

Dont mean to state the obvious Derek but fitting the roof panel is not going to decrease the chance of your car over heating due to rad removal confused ......... hehe

No, Derek was just using the rad as a solar panel to absorb all that wonderful Cumbrian sunshine. Warms the engine for the first few miles each day..... laugh

Close up pic of the heater pipe would be good please, I need to get rid of the water rail, need to see how it goes around the coil packs and down to the water pump.

Here you go.

One pipe from manifold to heater.

And the other from the SS pipe from radiator bottom outlet runs behind alternator, under manifold and to Hester.

in that latest picture the 'chrome pipe', doesn't that work like a air trap that way?

I particularly like the core plug fitted where the distributor hole used to be instead of the bung I use (nice touch). I also like the 90 degree elbow water pipe fitting out of the inlet manifold, do you have any details for that item? What made you decide to go for the JE alternator mount and would you recommend it? I think if I fitted one of those mounts I would remove the unused alternator mounting position but I suppose doing that would prevent you from going back to the original arrangement if you ever wished to do so. What I do like about it is the increased belt coverage around the crank pulley.

if your running the rotrex better spending it on a proper 8 rib pulley conversion , I was seeing belt slip higher up the range before I went full 8 rib all the way through
