Yes Daz, that's right, the damper has to be removed from the car to make the adjustments too, but I like the Bilstein's and wanted to keep the car original

Took both seats out and having them restored by a local company. After 21+ years they need a little love. I will post before and after when they are done.

I shortened the breather hose & fitted breather filter direct and mounted on chassis tube near diff. I've been running like this since installing supercharger & no problems. Only really did it to remove the full length rubber hose & tidy things up a bit. I think Daz has a similar arrangement.

Just need to polish them up now. First one done.
I was given the advice several years ago by a real expert, to polish so you can get a perfect surface. Leave the exhaust side polished and then use a very light flap wheel over the inlet side (like a single small flap of 250grit on a mandrel) to achieve the matt finish.

That was the general wisdom as I have always understood it too.
Apparently a mirror finish on the intakes can lead to a lack of turbulence and allows the fuel to 'fall out' of, and become less evenly mixed in the intake charge. No such issues with the exhaust side of course.

Sorted out an annoying squeak and a rattle, gave it a wash and then did the stupid thing of applying the handbrake. I mean, what sort of idiot would use one of those? rolleyes

I can't be arsed right now and there's no way that a drill will fit in there so the rest of the tread had better be easy to get out or I'm going to use a grinder on the bd thing.

The cage is quite tall to miss helmet and photo angle makes it look short

Hopefully DTEC ( tuscan challenge ) class C and maybe some sprinting. We have to use standard spec 4.0L V8 in this class. Probably about half a dozen out this year if all get built

I had the same thing happen last year. Hopefully you can get the thread out. If not then see this post below.
Another thought would be to super glue a small nut onto the end of the broken thread and that might be strong enough to get it turning and out.

FWIW I got an Evostik product called "Serious Glue" from B&Q recently. Much nicer to use than Superglue, and it made a great job of sticking two big washers onto my broken wing mirror casting - mirror is back on the car now.

Good luck gluing your nuts to the broken thread weeping

Had a proper look underneath for the first time since purchase, no nasty surprises thankfully. Scraped a bucket full of dirt from around the outriggers and treated the rear.

I also had a look at a random oil leak, it looks like someone has been here before me. Is this the pressure relief valve, and what would be causing it to leak?

I also tried to locate what I believe to be a wheel bearing on the way out but it is virtually impossible to tell on the rears due to the LSD, I presume I will have to disconnect a CV join so I can spin it without turning the diff to tell?
