Hi Dazzee,,, jeez, outriggers ?
If it's any consolation your car looks mean as hell mate.
Bring it home, stuff it in the garage and do it yourself while you ride the bike for the summer!!!
Not the outriggers, these are still good. Brakes and bushes etc need replacing for the shaken, but bulk of work seems to fix the oil leak. Will pass the test without that work, but would you want to drive around much in a car leaking oil? I believe they are to pull the engine out for the work, but will get more detail on exactly what to be done today.

My other upgrades/refresh purchases now going to be delayed for a while. I have thought that for the price I could get a car lift, engine hoist and do it myself. But sensible minds (wifey) prevailed to pay for it to be done properly and drive the snot out of it this summer.

Put the bike up for sale last night and had 2 calls before we even got back to the living room. Couple of people coming to view on Friday. Seems the '99 copper is as popular as ever.

I fitted these

They are Mitsubishi Starion seats.Quite easy to fit really using the original TVR runners and fixing holes Although I did waste about 3 hours trying to fit them with the Starion runners. The seats slide and tilt ok and have adjustable bolsters and the passenger seat can be tilted from the drivers seat.

Seats look good thumbup suitably retro look to them.

Looking at all options for replacing mine at the moment. Really want Tuscan seats but people are just taking the piss with asking prices when they do come up for sale. Tried MX5 seats but found them too short in the base and too low in the backs.

Wonder if older Boxster seats might fit as there seems to be plenty on Ebay at reasonable prices?

It was the look that attracted me to these, they are longer in the base and back.I was looking for MX5 mk1 seats because they are closer to the originals but when these came along on ebay just up the road from me at £95 for the pair it was a no brainer.I needed new seats because the bases of mine were completely shoot through water damage,my car when I bought it last October had been stood outside unused since the year 2000.
I don't know about the boxster seats are they manual or electric?

Someone local buy these and try them out please!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PORSCHE-BOXSTER-986-996-...

As for the Tuscan seats, supply and demand I'm afraid.

While there are people parting with cash for them the price will remain high.

Just a thought, find a parked Tuscan with it's roof off, 8 x 13mm nuts from underneath and..........................

I took my oil dipstick out to check the oil and thought Mmm that looks a bit dirty (the dipstick not the oil),so I cleaned it with a bit of wire wool and sprayed it silver. Tough going this mechanic malarkey ! biggrin

Presumably you mean you painted the handle part of the dipstick rather than the oil level indication part? eek

Tried the wheels (Quinny's old ones) on for colour....pretty sure I prefer the silver. Very happy with the wheels regardless of colour biggrin

Only a small job , fitted this kit which made a big difference ,much brighter now . If anyone decides to fit this kit buy two because the cables are to short .

Can I go for even higher wattage bulbs now .The relays are now secured behind he access panel ,live goes to the starter motor and the two grounds go the the main chassis ground .

I keep toying with the dark look but the general consensus is silver and a darker colour look better.
Did mine on a whim after seeing a sample of their 'GTR Chrome' at the refurb place (was fully intending to just keep to silver) and it's growing on me now but looks better clean...

Today I built these up at last and got one side (the easy side) in. Charge cooler out tomorrow to get to the other side and (hopefully) find a detached rocker pad...

I see their outriggers are a little more expensive that JE's. Any difference in quality do you think?
