Slacken off the bolts that secure the tray thingy under the silencer box and see if it still does it in the drive....
I can't believe you got this right!!!!A few of the exhaust tray bolts needed half a turn. Tightened them all and noise gone, cheers matey!
Took the opportunity to silicon grease the ARB Polys and check and tighten everything that is bolted down.
Happy days..........

Enlarging and port matching composite inlet manifold gasket carbide burrs are out (grabby bds) but porting cartridge rolls do the job very nicely been putting this off cos I thought it would be a right bh and heard a few horror stories mocked out a pattern one before pulling out 1 of my new genuine Land Rover ones (Ebay bargain) to be honest quality wise not much in it
Changed one recently, sourced from Rimmer, and was astonished to find it matched the enlarged ports on mine without needing to be modded at all... was a relief as I had just messed up another (different make) one when the coating had dropped off as soon as I tried to cut/grind the openings. Rimmer described it as an 'OE' part - no LKJ500020P1 - if that helps anyone else

Thats interesting Gary thanks for posting that number up I will look a total wker posting this after Derek's full engine strip down, (who shouted "nothing new"?) but I have yet to work out how to unlock my socket set, never mind use it.....
This morning I hired the ramp at my local garage for 90 minutes, removed the complete exhaust (the bit under the car), and fitted the spare one I bought "just in case I ever needed one" two years ago.
Fitted perfectly first go (by which I mean that having tightened all the bolts and clamps, the bolt to the block went straight on without adjustment). Fitted the rear ARB back on. Felt that deep satisfaction that comes from a) having all the right tools (apart from the clarkson I borrowed to straighten the ARB mounts) and b) actually managing to complete a mechanical task, and without loss of skin.
New exhaust is noticeably quieter, so I will await with interest the 101dB noise test at Bedford in just over two weeks time.
I do realise that for you guys this is a job you could have done in 20 minutes one handed, whilst on the phone and drinking a cup of tea with the other hand, but for me it is an achievement.....
I was so excited that I completely forgot to take any photos of my momentous achievement.
