Do we really need to know you've been to a pub in the Surrey hills, drunk seven pints of Fosters, and now have wind? whistle

How much more extra work and parts are needed to make it rev higher and so so quickly.

Hooked up the old Golf battery to the MG, and even after three and a half years storage in a container with no power she lit up like a Christmas tree biggrin Turned over nicely, {plugs out) oil pressure gauge reading nicely even on a slow crank, and clutch not seized biggrin Couldn't get a spark at the points, so new points, condenser, and coil going in next week... Coil looks old, and if it's original it'll be 44 this year smile

Finally fitted the one piece door seal so hopefully no more little puddles after torrential rain. With some rain forecast, my south coast holiday blast might not be topless next week.

Finished work and thought I'd give the car a treat.

I change the oil and the filter.
Put the road wheels back on,
Adjusted dampers to soft,
Checked a few nuts and bolts,
Washed her,
Went for a drive,
Put her to bed.

What a great way to end a week. smile

Only took just over an hour, so pretty pleased as it was my first time whistle
Credit to Clive, the fit was perfect, better than the original cat.
As if you needed any proof, even the engine bolt hole lined up perfectly.

Top work Clive, very highly recommended. Easy to fit, sounds great and looks even betterthumbup
No to mention, delivered exactly when said toosmile
I see that Clive made your y-piece with the last section that fits inside the exhaust system from a piece of tube. The one he sold me was made from a rolled piece of sheet that wasn't even circular and had to be reshaped to make it fit. When questioned he said that tube of the correct size did not exist so I sent him an eBay link to the correct size tube available immediately. The rolled section hadn't even been mitre cut before welding and had simply been pushed up inside the y-piece and welded. I found this out when I drilled a hole to fit a Lambda boss and found that I had to drill through 2 tubes, the outer one and the end of the fabricated tube pushed up inside! The rest of the job was extremely neat and very well made, but the system end was poor and overall I was disappointed.

Heard a strange noise coming from underneath.
Jacked it up, checked underneath, found that two 5/16ths bolts were missing.
Sourced new bolts and fitted them with a special washer.
Started it up ........

Finished this off today, marks the end of a 5 years long project to build myself a tool room precision metalwork lathe, its a Weiler Matador. Very rare in the UK. Was completely stripped down to piece parts in multiple trays and boxes when I bought it with the bed re-ground and a lots of new parts. Fitted a 3 phase inverter within the body of the lathe and kept all of the original functionality while allowing the lathe to be driven from a 240 supply and still use the 2 speed 415 motor. I had a German manual with drawings to use to work out how to put it all back together again.

There have been good and bad days but the end result is well worth it, with all the accessories that came with the lathe it is a really nice piece of kit.

Thanks, she runs well. There were days when I wish I'd just bought one ready to use, one of the chinese lathes etc….. I paid £250 for it and its cost me nearly £2k to complete…..but on German eBay, about 6000 Euros with half the accessories I have and non refurbished, I reckon I did ok……

I need this so I can turn a new crank pulley for the westfield's Rotrex supercharger to accept the poly v-belt. Could do with some easier jobs to practice on first.
