Thanks mate.
I have the car booked into Elmwood for a full geo setup, so hoping all will go well.
Can't wait to get out and drive it smile

Thanks guys, think I lost a few Lbs too, so a good thing in all smile
Very happy it's over though, but strangely therapeutic getting rid of all the old nasty parts

Well, it was finished yesterday, but took a good 5 days off, and was a hell of a slog.
Finally reassembled everything on the car yesterday starting at 7am and finishing at 4 on a toasty hot drivewaybiggrin

Changed from this

To this

New front and rear wishbones, full poly bush, 4x driveshaft gaiters, front and rear anti roll bar drop links, rear EBC discs and red stuff pads, front tie rod ends, one top upright bush re-sleeved, a few broken bolts replaced.smile

Sounds soo much easier just to type, but had real fun with this, including buggering a top upright sleeve, sheering anti roll bar drop links.....I guess the downfall of a higher mileage car rolleyes Most of these parts were so deeply rusted in place.
And yes, those old bushes were a complete bcensoredd to get outlaugh
Didn't get around to fitting the braided brake lines, so that will be for another day..........Way too bloody hot yesterday in the end. I was burning my hands on the tools in the endlaugh

Hoping the handleing will be transformed once the car is tracked next Wed's

Thanks Ged.

I actually enjoyed the challenge, although it did get a bit fraught at times (well, when I managed to bugger the upright bush sleeve), and when all the anti roll bars had issues.
Deffo recommend it if you want a challenge, but allow way more time than expected and expect to shell out a fair bit more than originally budgeted for biggrin .......Oh, and a garage would be helpful, but on the driveway wasn't too bad.

Took the Chim out for a spin around the block yesterday just to check the wheels were pointing in the right direction, so there'd be no issues getting it to Elmwood for the alignment.

Even with my ham fisted measuring, the car is so much more compliant over the bumps, and far more direct through the corners.
Cant wait to drive it after its setup properlybiggrin

could not figure out what ACT does supply with their kit but
mine are 2x55mm. still have to do some blending work on the
other side with the dremel but intake is now 102 in case
of further upgrades that will come sooner or later biggrin must relocate
the throttle linkage on the other side and put the TPS on
but should do the trick at some better price tag as the ACT one.
have used the same linkage as supplied with the newer ACT plenums.

As per my surface math exluding spindles :

1x65mm : 3318
2x55mm : 4750
3x45mm : 4770
3x50mm : 5889

thought about doing a triple setup but would have been done
way more difficult due to the internal shape of the plenum chamber.
would have involed lots of cutting and welding on the TB side.
hopefully the silicone hoses are comming in early next week that
i can put it in.

Front sidelight bulb not working. New bulb needed - how hard can it be?
So, turbo pipework blocking everything. Removed front grille, disconnected the pipework from the intercooler and managed to shove it out the way. Pulled out bulb holder and bulb blown. Fit new bulb and doesn't work. Too much surface corrosion so cleaned up, refitted and working. Refit the pipework.

Noticed that the air pipe to the plenum sits very close above the exhaust and had a couple of rolls of exhaust heat wrap from Cerb days so spent a while in the sun wrapping the exhaust. Should keep it a little bit cooler. A 20 minute job took 3 hours but happy with the result.

Now the 'fun' starts when you pull the heads sump off and take a closer look.
Good luck mate. Here's to building it bigger and stronger.
