When's the RR Derek?
Next Friday. Fitting new injectors today (if they arrive). Making a new set of leads, sorting some breathing hoses out, refitting the bonnet etc etc. I have only ran the engine to bed the cam. We will use the rollers to bed the rings and will give it an oil and filter change at the end of the day.

It was a tough, nay arduous, job, but someone had to do it.

I changed this:

For this:

Nice bit of billet aluminium

Lovingly made by Ged in his Shed in Wayels.

found a small leak in the alloy rad smash i do see a worst case scenario that it can´t be fixed.
question would be skip the alloy and get a normal in or try another alloy rad ?

car was running nice with the new plenum needing some more top end fuel and some accel. enrichment
mods.

After around 30 track days in my Chimaera, I have finally decided that I am probably pushing my luck in the "always being able to drive it home stakes". Car has never missed a beat, driver not so good, but been lucky so far regarding accidents, breakdowns and punctures.

So I decided to invest in some insurance before the 300 mile return trip to Castle Combe on 31st July:

Couple of things I would like advice on please:

1. Have I fitted the straps correctly (yes, I only did one side hehe )
2. What tyre pressures should I have in the trailer? They are commercial vehicle steel belted radials.

Why in the "what I did in the garage thread"? Because having bought a cheap but sturdy light weight trailer, so I could tow it behind my Saab comfortably, I have spent the whole of Saturday fitting the rear supports, winch, and new jockey wheel, and removing some excess steel with an angle cutter/grinder so that the car would load smoothly. Just the lights to upgrade now.

And fit a sign saying Going Racing so you don't perpetuate the myth that TVRs break down all the time biggrin

As mine has only temporarily stopped working twice in 28,000 miles (100 amp fuse both times), that is a must laugh

I gave up on alloy rads ... OK so they *SHOULD* be fine but I had three of them - the first had the top brackets on the wrong way round, the second split on me (that one was replaced under warranty but the second one that split was out of warranty).

Phil
took the rad out yesterday and the party that fitted it back in the days did not use rubber isolators shoot
alloy should be more prone to vibration and bumps than copper. now fitted with some sort of rubber and seems to be ok.

leak is very small and have sealed it with jb weld. let´s see how long it lasts. if not will put in a regular copper one and thats it.

Nice one A!

Straps correct.
Tyres about max, look at the sidewall, about 60 I reckon.
