Nice one A!

Straps correct.
Tyres about max, look at the sidewall, about 60 I reckon.
Thanks Peter. Yes, I am a bit worried about the tyre situation and am investigating alternatives.
I looked at the sidewall, this time with my glasses on, and spotted "max load 670kg at 65psi", so will put them up to 65psi and, as soon as i have the new lights fitted, take it to the local weighbridge to find out the weight of the trailer plus car. Then get some new, higher rated, wheels and tyres if needed.

The helpful (genuinely, despite being from Birmingham getmecoat ) guy who sold me the trailer told me "about 40 psi, mate" and also supplied a spare wheel and tyre. The so called spare has max load 435kg eek and is 4 x 108 stud pattern. My trailer wheels are 4 x 100........DOH!!! Good lob I checked.....

So that kind gift of a spare wheel would have been about as much use as a fart in a space suit if I had had a puncture on the road. But might double as a full sized spare for the TVR, I suppose, once I have checked the rolling diameter, centre hole diameter and offset .

Yes, that's a possibility. I have just been to look at the Uniroyal Rainsprout 3s on my Saab, 235/45 17 XL, but there is no load info on the tyre or on Uniroyal's website.
The tyres on the trailer are light commercial steel belted type (ie van tyres), so good load carriers. Probably just a case of getting slightly better ones in a size that will fit the trailer and keep it about the same height as at present. The max the trailer is plated for as 1600 kg, so I only need 800 kg max load tyres if I have understood it correctly.

If it has a manufacturer on the plate, I would contact them for the correct tyre info.

The load rating is the other number that you should be able to find on the sidewall. e.g. 84 W

Put some temp boots on Suni. Hopefully will find the time before flying out on Weds to get the tyres swapped ready for swapping back on when I return.

Fitted the temp boot to Tamy too. Freshly painted panels should be ready w/c the 10th.

Now just need to get the various hinges chromed and some stainless fixings. A few Ti ones too.

Bit full on with TVRs atm. Suni was collected yesterday and is great. Needs tidying though and have some higher priorities TVR wise.

Building jobs have stopped me progressing Samy as much as I'd like.

Tamy has seat backs, rear diffuser, bonnet and boot being resprayed to delete the carbon transfers. Plus I was thinking I need more downforce on the track biggrin

Difficult to see from the picture but are they really worn or is it just where the inner chain links haveh taken the paint off every other tooth.

Thanks for the replies, just seems that the marks are only in certain places around the cogs, like something is out of shape. Probably best to buy another new set when I put it back together.

This weekend I painted the spark plug extenders with the same stuff that I did the manifolds in, stuck a new set of leads on it and fitted some of those heat proof booty things. So far nothing has melted..

I also ruined it. That's it, it's a high mileage one now and not worth sod all biglaughparty

Finaly got round to stripping the engine down and found this plus another one with not so much missing. Good news is the bores are perfect. Happy that I have found the problem is only this as I was going to get forged pistons when rebuilding the motor.
